ugly

Well seems decent for now. Still bad geekbench scores ^ ^. But looks and works better than the android 10 update on the g7 thinq.

Geekbench is pointless... And what kind of scores do you mean by "bad"?

Worse than the average sd855 phones but that's kind of known.

Yes, because LG throttles the processor a little under heavy load so that the device does not heat up too much...[emoji6]

Yeah I know. Just stating the obvious ^ ^ it's not like the phone would be slow. Works much better/more fluid than the g7 thinq I have and just 845 vs 855. Liking the Android 10 update on the g8s.

Yup. With the update to Android 10, the device runs much smoother.
I am very happy with it [emoji106][emoji41]

I'm a bit disappointed, because qslide is gone.
I saw on reddit, that people recommended some alternatives, but honestly i don't have any idea what are they talking about.
And another thing, when i have active AOD, screen is kinda greenish, on andorid 9 was barely visible, but on 10 is glowing AF, so i had to turn it off.

There is an alternative in the Recents Menu..
If you press the app icon in the upper left corner for a long time, a menu appears.
Select the popup window and there it is again...[emoji6]
It's moveable and you can resize it to a floating icon.
The only thing that no longer works is to adjust the transparency...

Manz, gotta say it really works great! Battery life got even better and the experience is much smoother.
Only issue I seem to have is, that if I touch near the top end of the screen (near the cameras) , it often misinterprets the touch and starts to slide down the notification bar.... Haven't experienced this before.

Weird feature, makes the top part of the screen useless, can't say the g7 with Android 10 has this bug either... Even though it has a similar cutout...
Might know where to post this on LG support as a bug?

But I said that in my g7 with Android 10 this is not an issue. It works as before, as expected. Not like this joke here. But yeah the g7 has several other bugs...

No Chrome issues here. I used Chrome exclusively today to make sure.
Chrome installed right after i synched Smartphone and Tablet, so im using Chrome since i have the Tablet, and i never had any issues with it. Maybe reinstall?( or are there maybe flash objects supposed to be at that place?)
I have the same issues. I usually will reboot when I start seeing that.

It might be the case that it only occurs on some websites, but the squares move, so it can't simply be the case that it's there should be flash content. I'll try figuring our whether there's a pattern...

I can confirm this problem, does happen on tagesschau.de for example. Maybe it's a problem with the german language version? There is also a bug in the german keyboard layout of the ASUS onscreen keyboard, it does show comma (,) and full stop (.) twice. In the english layout there's a ? and a ! instead. Seems to me that Asus did not do much testing with international versions...

Does it make any difference if you check or uncheck the "show desktop site" box in the settings menu? I would also suggest clearing out chrome's cookies, history, temp files, etc. If that doesn't fix it, clear data and cache for chrome. If that doesn't work, Uninstall and reinstall Chrome.
I've performed a cold reboot for another reason (wakeup delay) I read somewhere else here in the forum, since then the squares did not reappear. Curious if it will remain like this. If not I'll try your suggestions!

I performed the cold boot for the same reason and now I don't remember if I did the boot before or after I tested Chrome for you... So, yeah, could be the cold boot fixed that as well as the wake-up delay (which has NOT come back, by the way.) Thanks again to whomever it was suggested that cold boot - I'm too lazy to go back and find the thread so I can thank the poster properly. I did, however, click the Thanks button.
Hi, I had the same problem but it seems it disappeared with FW update.
I am running 10.26.1.7 now.
But due to incorrect FW pushed OTA by ASUS I had to wipe the device so I can`t be sure. Anyway I have the same apps as before so I think it was FW issue...

After rebooting the TF701 those black squares are gone. To me it looks like a problem with HTML 5 Video or animated GIFs, because at the xda homepage especially showed this issue.

I had these too before the bogus OTA update, which I then had to wipe and not had it since. Seemed to happen on any websites I was on but happened randomly.

yeah it is 2700 .. hm strange..
but it might perform same as mate 7 ..
and even weirdest thing is they switched to AMOLED ..
http://consumer.huawei.com/minisite/worldwide/mateS/specifications.htm
2700 is a joke... Especially for a Powe user..
Looking forward to see the battery test, but if it wasnt for the battery I could have pre ordered it right now.
I thought Huawei was more intelligent than that and did not jump on the small battery trend.. and instead having the biggest batteries on the market..
I wonder in what time frame we can expect Mate 8... which will have kirrin 950 and most likely 20 megapixel camera.
I really like the 2D glass..
Big screen, huge battery, decent screen to body ratio, this is why I bought HAM7 and this is why I started following HAM1 and HAM2.
I hope the battery spec is a typo
Dang, Huawei has always been on top with their batteries. Would be a shame if they slipped up with this device.... That's one thing they will have over top of all these other OEM's. Huawei is going to instill fear in all of them hahaha.

Well, guess testing needs to be done to see how the battery life is. Makes me curious if they changed up the system and frameworks to accommodate for the battery life.

There are quite powerfull tools to allow selectably kill background tasks when screen is off, another to pick which apps have access to data connection (wifi/mobile separately). But not sure if they are able to limit general system draw to allow longer uptime. Disconnected from charger this morning, playing with phone quite lot and still have 59% battery. But by playing I mean setting it up, not playing games. Seems to me like usuall one day of power use, or two day of limited. No surprise here unfortunatelly, hoped for 4000+ mAh battery like old Mate 7...

There's quite a few phones that have launched without NFC which I couldn't understand and with the conflicting information of the Mate S I'm in two minds. I'm going to pre order so I guess I'll find out when I get it.
Oppo R7 Plus, OnePlus 2 and few other new releases without NFC. I know a lot of people don't use it yet but with Android Pay round the corner I can't see what manufacturers leave it out. Doesn't cost much to put in NFC. Hmmm

It has NFC. Works fine.
The Mate S I have with me doesn't see my 5G WiFi network, only the 2.4 wifis. My "old" G3 has no problem handlng the 5G nets.
The battery is 2700. It's not bad compared to the G3. More later.
I t completely doesn't matter if it supports only WiFi 2G and not 5G..
My GF has P7 which has only 2G and she doesn't complain about it.. internet works perfect in the whole house..

Well let’s be optimistic.
If things get as Google planned it will be great news.
For me most annoying with AW 2.0 is battery life compared to 1.5.
At least 20-25% less than before.
Also one negative is standby consumption witch is dramatic.
I’m loosing 8-10% at night(11pm to 7am) even at airplane mode.
Total ridiculous.
I have a friend with Apple Watch 3 and it’s not loosing more than 1-2% per 8 hours at night.

The watch was far more responsive and faster under AW1.5. Just compare "OK Google" now and then.

Well 2.0 has a few nice features like a keyboard, and a nice menu. Thats about it. At least on 1.5 I can actually use the watch with out it dying.
I never even charged the watch last night but it will still get me though most of the day.
The "OK Google" on 2.0 would not even work and would lag and not hear anything I'm saying.
When I get a phone call or text message, 8 times out of 10 it will ring on my phone and watch at the exact same time, if not it will only be 2 or 3 seconds slower. Opposed to 2.0 where it would take 3 to 6 seconds every time and sometimes for a phone call start ringing after I already picked up the call and wouldn't ever stop unless I silenced it...
Im not constantly changing the watch face from a fast accidental swipe.
Being able to use the watch FAR outweighs the few "features" of AW2.0.
First sign of new policy of Google.
Android Wear v2.6 includes a Recent app complication, network status indicators, download progress card, and more
http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/1...dicators-download-progress-card-apk-download/
Official Changelog:
-Text size of notifications adapts to message length, adding an extra line of text on most notifications
-Swipe down in Quick Settings to easily see your connection (WiFi, Bluetooth, or mobile)
-Check on download progress with new progress indicator notifications
-Launch your last-used app right from your watch face with the Recent App complication
-Better prevention of accidental side-swipe and long-press gestures
so I recently upgraded my phone from 6.0 to 7.1.1 (different device too, with bluetooth 5.0), and have noticed a considerable difference in response time on my watch. anyone else?
curious to see what ROMs others are running on their phones.

HI,
You are right that the P30 pro (VOG-L29) has developed into a splendid phone, it took only 3/4 of a year
My results are a bit lower than yours, but still very fast when I compare to my earlier Huawei phones, maybe because you use a newer Antutu version:

Choppy performance..?

I'm using the new p30 pro from last 2 days and I'm noticing very choppy performance. For example, on the YouTube app, when you press the full screen icon, you'll see the animation in frames before it enlarges the video.. Some scrolling on chrome browser too, I have noticed a lot of choppy frames. Not sure if I'm missing some performance setting or if everyone else also is noticing this..? I'm on 118 version.
I have 2 P30 Pro and on MI 9 and P30 Pro ist very fast on all time, Apps, Games, Not have single problem. Antutu 321.000 and apps open or YouTube is all fast.

EDIT:i put the phone in performance mode(optimiser->battery->performance mode) and now antutu is ~315-320k but the stuttering didnt go away.

Do you think that Facebook or chrome browser requires 300,000 points in AnTuTu for smooth operation? How old are you?

That's none of your business but i'll make and exception and tell you, 21 studying CS. May i ask you what is the point of your questions ?
A comparison of the result in AnTuTu in a flagship with how Facebook or chrome works is at least childish and a few years late Probably from here my question ??

No, from that you realise its the app that is not optimized. At least if the benchmark doesn't lie. And maybe you look at earlier comments, i was not the first one to post antutu score and only posted that to show that its not a faulty unit.

What software version are you on? i read somewhere 113 gets really bad performance.
No in normal mode (default). I'll check on performance mode and let you guys know. People who are saying antutu score of 300k, is it on performance mode only..? Thanks for your help!
This is my antutu without performance mode.
