Is there a way to roll back from the latest update? The oem unlocking switch is greyed out and doesn't work now. I'll post the new build number with this post.

You can still root on the latest version:
Download the stock firmware of your version from OnePlus' website
Extract the boot.img with payload dumper
Unlock the bootloader
Download Magisk Manager
Use it to patch the boot.img from earlier
flash the patched boot.img with fastboot
EDIT: I didn't read the post correctly. The reason your OEM unlocking is greyed out is likely because your carrier disabled it. There's a high chance you can't fix that, but you can still try manually updating to the latest version using the link from step 1 by choosing to manually update from zip file (when it's done updating remove your SIM card to get rid of any chance of carrier tampering).

Connect to your carrier with a SIM, and then it should be un-greyed out.
If not, reset the N100, and then setup from the beginning with a SIM.

Is there TWRP or other recovery for N100?

I'm also having issues with unlocking the bootloader in the dev settings. it's greyed out. I called Metropcs and they told me it takes 180 days before you can unlock the phone. There is a little "Unlock" application on the phone but I guess it won't actually work until after 6 months.
I'm here wondering if there is any way around this? or if there is a way we can obtain root and/or install a custom recovery somehow. or perhaps even unlock the bootloader before 180 days?
I'm on version 10.5.9.BE82CF but when I go to the official OnePlus website it's showing me version 10.5.5.BE81AA which seems to be an older version. And there isn't any options on the site to view any other versions.
would it be possible to somehow downgrade to 10.5.4 and use the pattched boot image provided here then acquire root?
Edit: ok I did a little more digging and found this quote from another user on this forum:
Units with model numbers BE2012 (T-Mobile) and BE2015 (Metro by T-Mobile) are running a special version of the OS which lacks local update and therefore cannot install updates manually. Sideloading the system update APK and trying anyway would not work as the device name for these units is different.

so basically the nord from Metropcs runs a sliightly diff of than the others.

hi
to patch the boot.img with Magisk Manager?

I'm on build 10.5.11 model BE2015, and OEM is grey-out. I do have carrier service and I recently got this phone . So I want to OEM toggle option for unlocking bootloader

I think you have to wait 6 months to 1 year depending on your service provider. I have this phone on MetroPcs by Tmobile and I have to wait 6 months before I can unlock it

My phone forced the update to Android 11. I even downgraded to 10.5.8 again, had root working, and without any prompts at all it restarted on it's own and updated. I don't see the version 11 image on the OnePlus website yet. Any ideas?

If only someone would post the OTA zip file! Please! My n100 (BE81AA) updated overnight without warning and I lost root. I'd really like to get a hold of it so I could patch boot.img and get root back.
Does anyone know how to get the OTA zip file after the update has run? Any other ways to re-obtain root without flashing back to android 10? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Can the patched image work with Oxygen OS 10.5.BE83BA

are you able to change the phone date to a year ahead and see if the unlock option becomes available then?

Also, are you able to disable automatic updates in developed options? to stop the android 11 updates?

Shoot you don't even have to wait a week.. you just have to be willing to put in a little bit of work on it.. I'll tell you I was MetroPCS and I found Qualcomm firmware and a decryptor for the Qualcomm firmware and I decrypted the global firmware and I also decrypted a MetroPCS version of the firmware I went into the settings file and I changed only the third line I switched them out in the settings file I re-encrypted and packed in the file and then I used a debloating script which disabled the block on the bootloader option and voila I had OEM unlock and I am rooted also and I didn't have to get metropcs's bootloader code which they will not give out

So you managed to flash the global rom to the metropcs N100 using modified msm tool's firmware?
If so, can you share the modified global msm .ops firmware for metropcs n100 be2015?
I assume you followed the instructions from the nord n10 thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...to-tmobile-metro-w-locked-bootloader.4297501/

[Root][Magisk] Honor 10 - COL-AL10 (C675)

Hi All,
I found some people have lost Volte on their Honor 10 phones by flashing LastStandingDroid's img. (which may not be compatible with devices in India)
Below are the versions which you can use for India.
Installation :
1. Download the attachment and place it in the same directory as your fastboot.
2. Make sure that you have unlocked the bootloader.
3. Run :
Code:
fastboot flash ramdisk col_al10_magisk_120.img
OR
Code:
fastboot flash ramdisk col_al10_magisk_131.img
OR
Code:
fastboot flash ramdisk col_al10_magisk_140.img
OR
Code:
fastboot flash ramdisk col_al10_magisk_150.img
4. Install Magisk Manager
5. Install Magisk using Magisk Manager just to be sure.
(Please click on Thanks button instead of posting 'Thanks' as a reply. Helps keep the thread clean ! )
**WARNING** : I WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR DEVICE.
PLEASE DO NOT FLASH IF YOU ARE UNAWARE OF WHAT YOU ARE DOING
**Disclaimer**
The patches have been created using Magisk. So BIG THANKS & Credit goes to Magisk Team for working hard and being so cool !

This should be for 8.1.0.120.
Btw, I didnt get any notification for 131 update. Have they made any changes to Ramdisk ? If yes, then its better not to flash. If there is no changes in Ramdisk, then you can flash.

Use LastStandingDroid's img in the other thread. This Image is for COL-AL10.
but you need something to do all this to install the magisk when then in reality you have created absolutely no rom that can be alternative I have equally valid nor a kernel that can increase the performance or eventually the battery life?
Just got the GPU turbo update (140) in India.
Will it work On the 140?
Edit : also, isn't it is easier to flash twrp first and then flash magisk(official one, no modifications) itself?

Purchase dc unlocker credit, use via hcu client.check in honor 7X section, there is a detailed guide on this.
Edit- there is some good news. Huawei is giving BL code for limited devices.

The above method is for rooting while keeping your default recovery for OTA.

I'm already rooted and using with twrp. During my time there was no source for my Indian ramdisk so couldn't able to back my recovery .
I root it via tool call " Huawei team mt multi tool".
The thing is I wanted to keep my default recovery also but firmware Finder didn't have any full firmware that time. Now, somehow I pull the latest 142 firmware for Indian version, if you want for 142 I can make a patch magisk if you want to use that's it

Please do upload so everyone can use. I still am not able to get the latest firmware to patch.
I received my unlock code some time when they were giving away unlock codes but haven't done anything with it. Is the code still valid?

OTA updates with Magisk?

I’m sure this is very simple and I’m just not getting it…
got new moto x4 XT1900-1 from b&h
unlocked boot loader with motorola code
using windows fast boot was able to follow the "How to : Moto X4 Root & TWRP Recovery" bu Munchy on youtube to install twrp using payton 3.2.1-1
then installed Magish 17.1 which seems to be what actually rooted the phone as per confirmation by Root Check app shows 8.1.0
now I am getting constant ota notices of a security update OPWS28.3.2 and I download it and it fails which is apparently normal for a rooted phone.
Can I disable the root and update???…can this be done by turning off magic…or uninstalling it…or is this done by tarp?
I believe I should back up the recover image using twrp…then what?…find and boot to a stock image?
???
any info appreciated
tia
PS…I just tried the "topjohnwu Update OTA tutorial for v17" method in tips and tricks on here and it also said update failed???

What I did (might be an easier way but this was fast and easy):
1) Uninstall/remove Magisk.
2) Re-flash firmware over current system but don't do 'fastboot erase userdata'
3) Boot into your system and take all the OTA's
4) Re-install Magisk via TWRP
Took about 10 minutes. Longest part was waiting for OTA's to install.
Sorry...I'm new to all this. How do I reflash firmware?....use twrp app that is installed?
Magisk 17 supposedly has the ability to do this.

I spent a little while trying to apply OTA with magisk. The only way I was able to do it was to flash the stock firmware like everyone says. I could only find 8.0, so I had to flash the firmware, install 3 OTA's, then reinstall twrp/magisk.
The only thing I didn't try was installing magisk without twrp, which I believe is supported but I'm not sure. I think that might be the secret sauce to fixing it, but I'm not sure, and I haven't wanted to reflash and go through the whole process again.

I have the android one variant. Do you know where I can get the firmware? There's a new security patch and I'd like to try installing it with stock bootloader + magisk (installed from a temporary twrp boot) to see if that works with the OTA. I'd like to get the method working since android 9 is coming at some point.

Thanks, the rom is exactly what I was looking for, I just wasn't sure which one to use. I'd hate to install the wrong rom and mess something up.
EDIT: I did get a chance to try it and you're correct, there is no way to install an OTA to this device without fully reflashing the stock rom, taking the OTA, then installing Magisk. I tried the following steps:
1. Flash ROM given from androidfilehost
2. Reboot, wait for OTA notification
3. Boot to bootloader
4. use fastboot to temporarily boot twrp
5. flash magisk 17.1 zipfile
6. reboot to system, verify that magisk/root is installed
7. Uninstall magisk using magisk manager "Restore Images" as given in the tips.md file
8. Take OTA
the OTA still failed, so even though TWRP wasn't installed and it was still the stock recovery, I was unable to install the OTA. Shame, it'd be nice if we could get this to work, but oh well.

[GUIDE] Root howto

For Complete Root howto please read this post
==============================================================
Quick root howto for Realme X2
What is written below is for both CN and EU versions, but the files attached are for CN only!
Please pay attention that files attached are version-specific
Credits: Magisk (@topjohnwu), TWRP for Realme X2 (@mauronofrio)
Unlock the bootloader with a help of apk file
Install Magisk manager apk to your stock system
Enter fastboot mode and perform there:
fastboot flash --disable-verification vbmeta vbmeta.img
fastboot flash boot magisk_patched.img
fastboot reboot
EDIT/NOTE
In order to have Magisk out of Core Only Mode:
boot into TWRP, mount SYSTEM in RW mode and from the computer perform
Code:
adb shell "cat /system/build_19771.prop >> /system/build.prop"
adb reboot
For EU version (RMX1993) you should replace 19771 with 19672 in the filename.
EDIT 2
I attach here a file with A.13 version boot image patched for magisk. Of course, you should change the file name in the howto above, the line with fastboot flash boot ...
In the next few days I hope to provide more detailed Root howto, thus there will be no dependency on any files from here for the next version releases.
EDIT 3
Here comes the next version A.14. Please find the corresponding file attached. vbmeta.img stays identical for all versions.
Thanku

Excellent, I have already tried the root without installing the twrp. then waiting for better times I restored stock locking up the bootloader. Here on the forum regarding the root guides, there are two and there is some confusion for a neophyte who wants to try his hand at mod. It would need only one clear and complete, perhaps integrating it with the procedure for restoring stock if one wanted to go back. For now I'm working like crazy, for example tonight night shift. but as soon as I have some time I will try to make a draft.
Unlocking guide with:
links and steps to follow for using the tool, (deep start test)
commands for dump recovery stock, (dd if)
links to files and commands for the flash of vbmeta and magisk,
link to the file and commands for the TWRP flash.
Guide to stock recovery with:
links and commands for the recovery stock flash,
link to the official rom to flash with the recovery stock,
Command to lock the bootloader,
links and steps for using the tool, (exit from the deep test)
in the end they would put the XDA threads links to any custom roms, for example starting from this one.

Thank you for good advice! I am a hobbyist, not a professional. I have numerous obligations too. But I shall do my best.
I tried the deeptest apk, and when I enter start the in-depth test, the phone reboots, enters the fastboot mode for 1 second and the reboots again normally. What's the issue here?

Evidently, you did not succeed with entering fastboot. Check if OEM unlock is enabled in Developer Settings and try again with DeepTesting app

Is this true can anyone confirm this on Indian Variant I restricted myself from buying this phone because I read that in realme phones the Fingerprint will stop working after unlocking the bootloader. If that's not the case I'll buy myself one

You don't need root, but the bootloader will need to be unlocked.
Unlocking the bootloader may cause certain apps like Banking Apps to stop working.
Because some apps check for things like that.
If you downgrade the firmware, do not allow OTA updates to install,
Your device will not update correctly. and may brick.
Unlock the Bootloader

Once the bootloader is unlocked, find your
Software Channel, it will be like, Retail, RetUS, Verizon, MetroPCS...
You can find your firmware here
lolinet mirrors - firmware, software, iso etc.
lolinet mirrors - powered by h5ai
mirrors.lolinet.com
download. and Unzip it
Check if your device uses fastbootd
Flash option 1
Find the flashfile.xml in the firmware folder
and use the online flashfile converter to get the flash commands
add the fastboot reboot fastboot commands if you have a fasbootd device.
Flash Option 2
Install LMSA
use the rescue option to download the current firmware for your device
move the LMSA firmware to a different folder
rename the Android 10 firmware folder to the same name as LMSA firmware.
Move that folder to the LMSA download folder
Use the rescue option to flash renamed firmware.
There is no guarantee that either method will work, but it should.
I do not recommend relocking moto bootloaders, Even if you follow the directions for relocking
It can still go wrong, and you can end up with a non-working device.
On the phone
Toggle off "install updates" option in Dev Options
thanks mate,
but this process seems so tedious for a novice like me..i am afraid of bricking my phone..although I have downloaded retin 8.0 Rom from lolinet source but I am not confident and may end up with a unusable device..

Many people have bricked their device trying to downgrade, by not doing it correctly.

yes u r absolutely right...actually i am a music lover and listen music a lot all day...after pie update the excellent audio quality (on oreo) has gone to hell and i am barely able to listen even the ringtone...otherwise i have no issues with pie...the only thing i want from my device is that excellent audio output back...
i uninstalled the pie dolby using adb and tried almost 40 apks from different sources..but no improvement.. that's why i thought it is the last resort to downgrade..
I have successfully (I think!) downgraded from the last Pie update to OPSS27.104-92-4, using RSD Lite 6.2.4 with these stipulations:
1. After unzipping the lolinet download I opened flashfile.xml with Notepad++ and deleted the lines for flashing gpt.bin and bootloader.img. See "More info" below. I then ran flashfile.xml as normal with RSD Lite.
2. Also following advice elsewhere, instead of flashing Oreo versions of adspso.bin and NON-HLOS.bin, I flashed the PIE versions instead.
(Actually I forgot about flashing the Pie version of NON-HLOS.bin at first, and my IMEI info showed as unknown. So after realizing this I rebooted to bootloader and manually flashed that file.)
Phone booted up the first time with no problems.
More info on "fixes" (which I personally have NOT fully tested yet, beyond getting my missing IMEI back):

Ah. I'm still "stuck" on Win 7 (very much by choice).

Can my bootloader be unlocked?

Hi guys,
I'm sorry in advance if this was addressed already. I just bought an unlocked S20 FE (G781U1) online because I wanted it to be my gaming device. I saw videos and xda threads online about rooting and unlocking the bootloader. I am sure I followed all the steps correctly when installing ADB and fastboot. However right at the steps where I type "fastboot oem unlock", it keeps failing. My device can be detected when i type both adb devices and fastboot devices so I was sure I am following the right steps. I even tried typing the "fastboot flashing unlock" and that also came up as a command failed. Am I doing something wrong or do I need to install new fastboot/adb drivers?
Here is a screen shot from my device information.
Also, in the off chance that this is not possible to unlock the bootloader or root, is there a way to optimize the phone's gaming performance such as overclocking cpu/gpu? I have only debloated the samsung softwares.
Thanks in advance everyone!
Samsung phones don't natively support fastboot in this way for unlocking (or anything else). also worse still you have a U1 model i.e. a US model which sadly don't have unlockable bootloaders by normal means.
if it's on very early firmware it's possible that a paid service may be able to unlock it for you. having looked at your screenshot this doesn't apply here.

Thanks for the reply.
Man, I was hoping I was just doing something wrong instead.
So this phone is pretty much impossible to be rooted at this current time? I was looking on the xda threads on kingoroot but it seems like everyone is saying they are pretty shady. I was thinking if I could use that tool, I could root it and overclock my phone then reverse everything (kingoroot stuff) and hope the overclock would stay?
