Question First impressions of Realme 8 - Realme 8

The Realme 8 seems like a pretty solid smartphone with a vibrant display, a good MediaTek Helio G95 chipset, a reliable 5,000 mAh battery along with fast charging, a bold design, a clean software and of course, a good primary camera.

The realme 8 has a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED punch-hole screen with a pixel resolution of 2400 1080 pixels, a 20:9 aspect ratio 2.5D curved glass screen with gently shaped edges, and a 2.5D curved glass screen with softly rounded edges. The display is bright, and the sunlight readability is excellent, due to a peak brightness of 1000nits. It features a refresh rate of 60Hz and a touch sampling rate of 180Hz. The previous model had a 90Hz LCD display.

When it supports carrier aggregation ?
Will get in future ?

Hi, Realme 8 what kind of phone should I buy? would you recommend

Clarity/resolution

The OnePlus 5T has a crazy crisp display. Just kidding, this is automated text so who knows if this screen is any good. So, you be the judge! A higher rating indicates that it's extremely sharp and clear, and that you cannot see pixels with your naked eye.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
I have used Samsung Galaxy Note 4 for 2 years ( AMOLED 2k) before coming to 5T and I really don't see any difference.

Good to know, I'm eyeing a 5t myself. I think I read that they use a different 'diamond' pixel spacing on the 5t, so it may actually appear more pixel dense than the old lentil arrangement on Samsung's previous amoled panels.

If you meant "diamond pentile matrix", then Samsung has been using it from S3 days or even earlier than that. Today's Samsung sourced mobile amoled displays have diamond pentile matrix only that includes 5t as well. This pixel arrangement gives less number of green and red subpixels compared to LCD and other screens but it's non noticeable for a screen with ppi more than 400. It was a problem in S3 and note 2 days bcoz of low resolution but not anymore..
So get the 5t with eyes closed.

What I can tell you is that the display is perfect. No discoloration or hues on tilting the screen, brightness is uniform only thing is the display looks a bit...really a bit more reflective than the note 4 display but then it could be because of the screen guard thats pretty applied. Other than that nit picking the display is amazig.

Uniformity will vary on every screen. It's a lottery with any oled display

I went through 3 different pixel 2 XLs (for various defects) before setting on the OP5T; all 3 pixels had significant uniformity problems with the top being brighter than the bottom. Also very grainy. Can't find anything wrong with the display on the 5T.

Yes, it's a lottery with LG's OLED panels, but with Samsungs panel, it's more consistent per panel.

Not sure. Plenty of pink tints etc on Samsung panels. But the Samsung ones are a lot better anyway.
I had 2k screens (G3, S7e and Pixel XL) for 3 years and while I can squint and see that the 5T is a lower resolution, it looks the same when you use it normally.
I was a little concerned about this, but was relieved when I got the phone and the screen was very nice and crisp.
I would like to admit to being quite picky about resolution and used to change it on my G3 to get better battery life but couldn't stand it being slightly "blurry" because it was no longer 1:1, pixel for pixel. Most people don't notice this but it did! (Not that the text looks blurry on the 5T because it is 1:1 at 1080p.)

Hey, i just switched too from the Note 4 to too! Before buying i was sceptical too due to the 1080p screen, so i went to the stores and had a look at the mate 10 pro, wich also has a 1080p 6" screen and i couldn't see any difference, so i ordered the OP5T. I am very happy with the screen! Can't see any difference in normal use aswell. Plus it has a much whiter white than my Note 4.
Coming from the 2K screen on the Nexus 6P to the OnePlus 5 had me a little skittish, but it wasn't a significant enough change to warrant returning it. The 5T's OLED panel takes things to another level with its brightness/darkness levels and battery life impact. I thoroughly love it, and went as far as to drop my font size to the lowest possible to give me the faux-highres feel.
Currently my oneplus 3 screen uniformity is rubbish. It's especially noticeable on white band even more so on grey backgrounds with a very noticeable yellow tint towards the top left of the screen. It's pretty gross.
I know it's a bit of a "lottery" with OLED screens but can I expect a better overall experience coming from the OP3?
Id the oneplus 5t screen from samsung ? Shame google couldn't just take an oled display from samsung because otherwise, the pixel 2 xl would be the perfect smartphone.....

Sadly it costs to much and has no headphone jack and has not much development.
now back to topic: the screen looks fine nearly the same as on my op3 but thats okay it was a very good screeen.
I've from a QHD Super Amoled display from my Note 5 to this phone. Unless you're gonna use a magnifying glass to pin point pixels, you're gonna find both both displays are excellent. I am extremely happy with the display with my 5t.
Screen looks awesome to me. With any oled screen it's a lottery how uniform it will be.
The screen looks fantastic to me... no noticeable difference from a 2k one.
The phone does not support VR so it would have been only a useless battery draining feature.

"Look" of the device (aesthetics)

Is the Xiaomi Redmi 5 as good-looking as you are (despite your receding hairline, adult-onset acne, and massive weight gain)? Rate this thread to express whether you think the Xiaomi Redmi 5 is attractive. A higher rating indicates that you would even go as far to say that the Xiaomi Redmi 5 is a beautiful phone.

Above Average
*2018 Bezel less like approach with a bad Chin
*Metal like Body( it's not metal)
* Sturdy look
IMHO it looks really good for that price.
- Never thought that I'll have a full-screen experience until I'll buy at least a mid-range priced phone. Ultrabudget device? Woah.
- The body feels solid. Back plate is metal and the edges are plastic, including the antenna parts.
- I love the screen. 720p resolution doesn't really bother until you look really closely, and that works fine for me. The IPS matrix is better than on previous models. You can see that black colours are darker and less blue-ish. Max brightness does great on a sunny day.
- The camera/led/fp sensor part is really good. It looks better than on RN4X, it looks more mid-range than ultrabudget. My device is black btw.
The only thing that I don't like is the side bezels, but I guess it's ok for a 120$ device. Top/bottom bezels are nice
It's slim

Redmi K20 (Mi 9T) VS Samsung A70

https://youtu.be/aJ7H2SN2VsA
If you watched the video you can clearly see that both phones have same brightness level yet the A70 screen looks much brighter and better than K20's screen which is dim and has ugly red tint. Samsung used a a very high quality amoled panel in the A70, the best I have seen in this price range. A70 also has bigger screen, bigger battery, and performance is great. It's downside is the ugly outdated back design and build materials. K20 has notchless display but look how thick the phone is. A70 is much thinner and sleek. I think the A70 is the winner.
I might be biased since I own the A70  Still the superiority of A70's AMOLED screen is undeniable and it's the main reason why I choose Samsung phones over other brands.
Bottom line: Not all AMOLED screens are created equal! Chinese phones use cheaper lower quality amoleds.
What do you think? :fingers-crossed:
I think the back of the a70 is really nice and does every thing I want it too just a shame the back srat he's so easy
the mi 9t is 300€ in france or 350€ depends on deals.

Yes you r right my source site was wrong.
Good to know
Also loving this battery life... way better than s10+
So a70 or mi 9t
I still prefer Samsung a70 over mi 9t
Special regards the display
I have no problem with the back of the phone i'm using a case anyway or after a month i will find tiny scratches everywhere even if the back is metal
Im currently debating between mi 9t or a70.
Which phone has better camera and video quality.
Can someone give me a hand?
Xiaomi mi 9T is the better device to me and yes I have both.
K20 has its disadvantages....
No expandable storage capacity..
Screen size...
Battery life...
These 3 are the ones which made me go for a70 rather than any other phone...

64gb or 128gb expandable storage is a personal preference.
Screen size is a personal preference screen on the a70 could be to big for some.
Battery is great on both back to screen smaller less battery consumption.
Disadvantage a70 sd675, glastic back that scratches easily, oh and one low speaker I have to crack it to the max most of the time.

Well, plastic back is actually preferable with larger phones because of the risk of accidental drop. And to be honest, a70 performs pretty good as well. And it is perfectly slim and anyone can hold this phone in his/her hand without problem. One hand usage is pretty awesome.
The speaker volume is good enough. But plug in a good mid tire headset, its amazingly good...

Question Does X60 Pro+ has any Gorrila Glass Protection?

Does X60 Pro+ has any Gorrila Glass Protection? Or any other Protection?
The non-plus has GG:
Vivo X60 Pro | Vivo | Corning Gorilla Glass
The Vivo X60 Pro takes it up a notch with a 48MP quad rear camera, a 32MP front camera and a 4200mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. For better protection against damage from drops, its glass back is designed with tough Corning® Gorilla® Glass 6.
www.corning.com
I would assume that also means the + has it...
I'm getting the phone today from a store here. The only reason I chose this instead of OP9 is because of camera quality, price difference of over $245 from OP9 pro
Some cons I'll have to live with are:
No stereo speakers
No IP rating
No wireless charging
Slightly lower display spec
Single speaker is not that bad when I demo'ed it at the store which was generally busy
Display difference is hardly noticeable, or I'm told so.
Phone feels good to hold and the back is super friendly against smudges or any scratches. The camera bump could be an issue though as it is felt even after adding up a case on it.

Agree
I can leave without stereo Speakers as mostly use earphones. And it support LDAC which is very good.
We Would need to be careful using phone and I think there is some protection and we should be able to use during rainy season or sweating, should be splash proof bit. I guess they couldn't get official IP rating due to vegan leather back
For me wireless charging is gimmick. Should we carry wireless charger or buy one for home, car and office. Happy to do same for wired charging. True wireless charging is yet to be discover.
Display as long as it reduces strain on eye I am ok 120 refresh rate should help...
Only thing I miss is IR blaster which helps controlling multiple home appliances/devices.
Other on list yet to know if it support is MHL to connect to Monitor or TV through HDMI
I booked it too hoping to get it in hand soon. Obviously camera setup was main point for me to lean on this one in compare to 9th attempt phone.
Took another hands-on demo with the phone. Things I discovered:
Runs significantly cooler than Samsung S20 FE when I shot 30+ photos back to back and recorded a minute long 8k video
When the display is OFF, there is a time and date in grayscale at the top right curved edge of the phone ( I hope this can be customized )
There exists a pre-applied screen protector
Although I'm still worried about the aging of the phone compared to OP9 for battery stamina, cell and data reception.

The AOD should be able to be toggled off.
After the factory screen protector wears out try wet apply Gorilla IQ Sheild if they make a protector for that model. Long lasting and relatively easy to apply correctly on a curved screen.

The Vivo X60 Pro is nowadays very popular for its 48MP quad rear camera, a 32MP front camera with its Carl-Zeiss branded optics, and comes with a 4200mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. For better protection against damage from drops, its glass back & front are designed with tough Corning® Gorilla® Glass 6.
I think i didn't see it yet the Gorilla Glass but normal glass will be available.
The Vivo X60 Pro+ has a 6.56-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,376 x 1,080 pixels, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a touch sampling rate of 240Hz. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The phone comes preloaded with Funtouch OS 11.1 based on Android 11 with a 4,200mAh battery with 55W fast-charging capabilities. Its glass back is made of strong Corning® Gorilla® Glass 6 for improved protection against damage from drops.

Question From 11T pro to 12T pro?

Is it worth it,to change 11 to 12 pro ?
I ordered it in in pre order sale for 700e , I sell 11 t pro for ,300e and got a gift from Xiaomi , Xiaomi smart heater that worth 150e euros .. literally phone will cost me 300e.
I have opportunity to see and check system , camera. It's a big difference in CPU 888 and 8+1 gen, you can feel it . Camera if awesome... I choose blue color. This previous was gray , I decided to change it to some lighter color.
A lot of people say that ,11 T pro is good phone and I should wait until next year generation.
But the most important thing is battery , CPU 8+1 gen is more efficient then 888 ,and battery can last more then on 11tpro..
Color of screen is amazing. Especially on sun, it so bright that you can not see hole for fingerprint like it was on Poco fa Oro that I have. You can see hole on screen on sun where is fingerprint unlock set... Another improvement...
I hope that will be good ,and have more custom ROMs than this phone.
Yes go for 12T pro if it's only cost 300e

Yeap, otherwise not very interesting, go from aluminum to plastic, super Amoled to Amoled, Corning Gorilla Glass 7 Victus to Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and Xiaomi optimization for the 8 Gen1(12 pro) currently not really on top.

Both 11t Pro and 12T Pro is just amoled screen.
12T Pro 8+ gen 1 is still better than SD888 or 8 gen 1
Atleast this time there OIS with main camera.
