Bootloop - Samsung Galaxy M21 Questions & Answers

hi, my Samsung Galaxy M21 has entered bootloop, and it does not even enter recovery mode, how do I fix it?

Is it stock? Any new software recently added?
Ever gotten wet or hard drops?
Try a hard reboot (simulates pulling battery).
Try pulling sim and SD card if any.

Thanks but these methods don't work, I'm trying to reboot via another phone with the bugjaeger app, in case you recommend other methods.

Firmware may be corrupted, possible hardware failure.
Try with charger connected.
Does it charge normally?
Try leaving it run until it auto shutdowns from low battery. Then charge to 50% and try.
Play with it...

does not recharge, do you have any other advice?

Possible C port or battery failure.
Failed battery, not enough current to fully boot.
Maybe a mobo failure.
If under warranty... time to send it in.

Ok, thanks for your help, the only hope not to send it to the service center, is to reset it through the hole on the outside of the phone, but I don't think it works. thank you again

Sorry of all the trouble you're having with it... and no easy fix.

@Ch Tech have you solved it, then?

I sent it for repair

I'm not sure if anyone here can help you if you don't say what you were doing before it got into a bootloop.
However, a lot of people are getting this after the latest updates.
So maybe stay away from the latest updates

Boot IC on Motherboard check if it is working by entering recovery of you can't try reset via download mode by flashing new rom.
Switching from 10 to 11 without data format could be the reason. Most M series devices has either PCB issue or Boot IC fried after updates.(only after one year)

Late reply but see if it help anyone else out there

I sent him for assistance, but in the end they didn't make it either. So we bought an A21, hoping that this doesn't happen again. Thanks anyway

Thats why I never update!
Thats their bizness, they sell devices then customer buys, then they send updates to brick the device, then customer buys new device and old device ultimately reaches back to factory as scrap, then they use the old parts to make a new device. So they win both way! (A little exagerrated but happens)

[SOLVED] HTC HD7 won't start after failed update (Step 9 of 10) , Phone is Dead

I tried updating my phone and it got stuck on step 9 which was the reboot process. and the screen was just white with the HTC logo.
It was stuck on this step for a good 3 hours so i assumed something was wrong. I cancelled the update and unplugged the phone from the computer and it was stuck on the HTC screen still so i took out the battery.
And when i put the battery back in and tried turning it on it wouldn't turn on. And so now it my phone won't even turn on! I'm very frustrated. I thought at first it was dead but when i plugged it in the charger the charging light won't even come on. Tried Wall Charger and Computer
Please someone help! I need a solution
(Problem Solved by Flashing the Set with RIFF Box)
Try to put into bootloader and flash a rom from an ruu. You'll start from scratch but if it works it works.

Thanks for the Reply Man, But i try to put the Phone in Boot loader by Pressing the Volume Down Key and Power Key But no respond from the Phone...
Please advise if i am doing it Correct.
Its not showing any sign on Power at all even when i plug it to the PC or wall socket charger.
Pretty sure that's how to put in bootloader. Try to take battery out out for like 2-3 minutes, put back in then try bootloader. Doesn't make sense since the Zune updates basically overwrites files to update, not like previous windows mobile updates that wipes the the phone then replaces everything. Keep trying. Is there a possibility the battery is dead?

Whenever you update a phone and something goes wrong, it is always advised to make sure you DON'T remove the battery, especially while updating, if you hadn't removed the battery you could've ran the Windows Phone support tool. You have Bricked your mobile.
If there is no life not even charging you have bricked it.. Sorry to tell you this
You ain't the first person to brick your mobile and sadly you won't be the last
Quick Question: How were you updating your phone? via Zune client where it specifically says Do not remove the cable or battery.. Or via rom update manager for manually updating roms where it says the same thing? Hate to sound horrible but people should really pay attention to what it clearly states during updating..
Additional Info: Just thought id add and ask what you were updating, basically if you were updating either the bootloader or the radio (if these were in the update as well) you've bricked it, and with there being no life at all it tells me its dead and the cpu refuses to boot, the only way to bring it back from the dead is to JTAG it which I don't believe has been done for the HD7 yet and is a massive pain to do, Best thing you can do is send it in for repair and hope that they repair it, normally they don't
I was updating it through Zune, And it was stuck at step 9 and it was stuck like 4 hours.
Well it is is Bricked then i guess this is my Last windows Phone
I was happy with my iphone 4 but i don't know what strikes at my head that i decide to sell it and buy this stupid HD7 ( May be i am Stupid not the Phone)...
I will hit the Repair Market to get it fix through JTAG ( I search on Google and find that it's Possible for HD7) and update the thread later.
Wish me Good Luck

I know iPhone 4's are perfect, I think Apple has 0% percent returns. Oh don't forget the bumper, they are so in season... and they help to prevent drop calls.
My guess is there is a reason for the 4 hour update, possibly the phone got disconnected breifly during the update... that happens and the phone will just sit there and never finish. I have a few micro USB cords and they seem to be a bit prone to faluire after months of use. My nephew, who is 19... and well as careless as a 19 year old was holding the phone in his hand did just that, almost bricked his. Fortunately for my nephew the 7720 update program had already copied everything to the phone and it was during the reboot so it updated anyway.
Well the Update is...

Dear, I am afraid that i can't help you a lot on this as i just ask the repair shop and they said that they can fix it with the help of some hardware called RIFF Box and they did in few hours. Just to be noted that they have to disassemble your phone to so that.
regarding IMEI problem i have no idea too. Best of Luck and i can understand your feelings.

Dear all,
to be honest my phone is dead again when i try to do some ****ty update .....
i am trying to find someone to do this again. i will update accordingly soon.
I have the same problem
Hi, I have the same problem and my phone's been dead for 3 months now
I went to a repair shop in Cairo, and they did the JTag thing, but he was unable to download or install the right ROM... Everytime he tries installing a different ROM it fails and he has to start all over again.
Do you know where I can find/download the ROM that works with my T-Mobile HD7 after we do the JTag?
Still no Update....
Hey where you find a RIff box in Pakistan , I've half bricked my phone

[Q] Dead Note

I fear for my note!!
When it booted yesterday it wouldn't go past the Galaxy Note GT-N7000 screen. I took the battery out and tried it a few times, same problem.
I eventually managed to get into recovery. I could navigate around but whenever I tried to do anything I seemed to get errors or be unable to access files. I tried reflashing the ROM (Cassies extralite v6) and it started but locked up.
I now can't get any response whatsoever from the phone. No display at all. I've tried a spare fully charged battery, I've tried plugging it in, nothing.
Is there hope? where should I go from here?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Tim.
Try connecting your charger(though you have a fully charged battery) and see if the display lights up.If it does try to get into DL mode and flash a rom
IF it doesnt light up try usb jig.It should probably get your phone into DL mode.If this also fails your last hope would a JTAG recovery
Thanks for the fast reply. I've tried plugging in the charger, still no response.
Can the usb jig work if I have no response at all from the phone. And could you link me to the JTAG recovery process for the note?

Jig is supposed to force your phone into DL mode when other methods fail. You can surely try it.AFAIK JTAG method involves disassembling your phone and it requires special hardware to establish communication with your phone and computer. It aslo requires soldering skills.
Now don get stressed on reading it.First try the jig method it will and must help you.Lets hope for best results.
I bought a jig on ebay (I know I could make one, but they're only $3 and I'll know its right). Can anyone confirm whether there is any possibility they jig can get my phone working if I am getting nothing at all from the phone as is. There is no sign of life, none at all. The fact that there are no LEDs means I can't even tell if its charging when plugged in.
Have many people had hardware failure on the note? Is it possible the ROMS corrupted and that has caused no response? Everywhere I google even bricked notes seem to have something come up on the screen.
Please help!
I had the same issue after updating my stock unrooted phone via Kies.. Phone died after samsung white letters and after that no lights no dl mode no recovery.. Didn't have a jig to try so I send it to service center they changed the board.. So if you can wait for the jig order it and try it out few bucks wasted if it don't work but I hope it will, but so GLÜCKLICHES mate

Thanks for the reply Braxos. Where did you send it back to? I'm in Australia but I bought the phone online from Hong Kong. Has anyone had experience sending stuff back to Samsung Hong Kong? Or am I better to try somewhere like the mobile tech video sites jtag brick repair service? (I'm not allowed to link to it)

[Q] HTC is bricked after battery discharge

Hi guys!
I've read lots of topic at this forum about this problem. This is my story:
I forgot to charge the battery, leaving 8%. The next day the phone was switched off. When I tried to switch it on appeared the battery symbol and the blinking red light. Then the phone fell and did not react to anything longer.
I tried different chargers to recharge it. Also via USB.
I also tried a combination of keys: power+volume button+light to sensors. Every combination.
What is important: the phone is NOT rooted. There is oryginal software.
Today I gave the phone to the service. And my question is: is there a chance to fix it without losing data? I pointed out that if they wanted to delete my data - that called me. But I want to know if it is at all physically possible to repair it without losing data? If yes - I will tell them that I don't want to repair it in their service and try to do it alone.
Thank you very much for advice!
I don't think they will repair it without wiping data
BTW your problem is quite strange, it wouldn't have to brick like this
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
Why do you think so?
If breaks down something with charging/power they usually change the entire motherboard, or perhaps only certain components?

if there are very important data you might want to discuss the situation with them carefully. If there are data that are more worth than your cellphone, then you might have to pay them a bit more that they make some kind of special repair.

Urgent help needed! Not able to turn on my HTC One M7

Hello everyone, I am from India and My HTC One is rooted, unlocked and international version.
I am in an urgent need of help as I am not able to figure out what has happened to my HTC One M7 and due to that don't know what to do next.
So all this happened last night, that is, 20th of February.
I have Insertcoin-7.1.3-REPACK-M7_UL_L50_SENSE70_MR_HTC_Europe_7.19.401.2 ROM with Elementalx kernel, installed on my device.
I was uninstalling few apps from my device, during the procedure it started to hang so I had to restart it then again I continued uninstalling another app or the same app if it didn't uninstalled due to hang. This hanging thing happened for about 5 or 6 times as I was removing so many apps! So I restarted it for about 5-6 times and after uninstalling all the apps that I didn't needed, I opened avast antivirus cleanup app to free up the space covered by junk files. and during its procedure, again my htc got hang and I again tried to restart it and since then I am not able to switch it on, the only response that I can get it after pressing the power button, it boots upto the HTC logo then nothing happens! and when I tried to go into recovery and install a fresh rom, I easily get into bootloader menu and the volume key works fine as navigation but as soon as I tried to go into recovery by pressing power button, it hangs, I also tried to do a factory reset from the bootloader but same thing, its hanging. And when I plug it in charger, the led keeps blinking. I don't know what's wrong and what to do next. I have learned a lot from XDA, I hope you guys can help me out! thank you in advance.

Yes I know what it means, unfortunately. That basically mean you can throw it in a garbage can
QHSUSB_DLOAD can happen for known 2 reasons
You flashed an incompatible firmware and right after that it went it this mode - recoverable
It randomly went in this mode = hardware failure - unrecoverable/must replace the motherboard.
Since you were experiencing hangs when playing with files, I guess this is confirming an hardware issue, maybe with the EMMC.

Damn! That's sad to hear, I think that the reason is the second one only because it's been few months since I have been using that ROM and KERNEL, and It was working smoothly, not even a single error occurred ever. any idea about how much does that motherboard cost? I bought my HTC for 43,000 INR in August 2014, that too the single sim version and currently dual sim version is coming for 24,000 INR so I am not in favor of investing a huge amount into it.

Hey there,
Even I had the exact same issue(out of country device-stuck at boot screen-unable to enter boot loader mode-no solutions give above works)[/B] from the last one and half week. I gave the mobile to the HTC service center and today I got a call telling that the mobile's motherboard has to be replaced and since it is a out of country device, the change will cost INR.16,500
And so I told them to return my mobile.
So don't go for changing the motherboard and best is to try some alternatives like selling or repairing by ourselves.
Some one if you feel that there is way for this issue PLEASE post it. It will help us a lot........
Please guys IT IS URGENT......IT IS HELL WITHOUT A MOBILE U LOVE

Hey! Thanks a lot for sharing your issue with me. I am thinking to first get it checked by the service center and let's see what they say and how much amount they ask for, I am in a favor of only investing 2-3k, not more than that. If they asked for more than 5k. I'll order motherboard directly or manage it from somewhere and will get it fixed from some local shop.
I love my phone but don't wanna invest much as I already have purple tint issue and I was thinking to get it repaired and now I've an another issue which should be fixed first.

Ive seen some MB replaced for around USD 150-200$ so I wouldn't expect to get it repaired under 5000 INR
You can find a motherboard for the international variant around 95$ (6500 INR). Cheaper MB (around USD 60$) like the Sprint and Verizon variant won't fit in your phone. If ordering a motherboard online also make sure it was not salvaged from a blacklisted phone as the IMEI# is tied to the motherboard so if you change your MB you'll get a new IMEI and you don't want it to be blacklisted. If you never repaired a phone before then expect some more fees cause you will most likely broke something when disassembling it, like a lot of ppl did.

Sm-g925v in a reboot loop help please??

I need some experienced minds on this one.. My girlfriend had her screen crack on the s6 edge. It was minor. She brought it to get repaired at a local shop. They put on a new digitizer. In a few hours after getting it back she experienced a couple of random reboots. Soon after that the phone will not stay on. It just keeps rebooting over and over. We tried clearing the cache partitions and doing a factory reset. Nothing changes. I timed it @ 1min 7 sec after the first logo appears from pushing power button. Tried reflashing firmware from samsung rep at best buy. Nothing helps. It will stay on if going into system recovery mode but not on normal boot. I tried a new battery in it also to no avail.. Any one out there ? Throw a bone?
Did you find a solution for this issue?
No I did not. The shop offered a slight refund for labor and I ended up parting out the phone. But please do try reinstalling the firmware using abd or take it to best buy or another Samsung representative.

Ok things I've done, I used various Odin versions in admin mode 12.3, Different USB ports and PC's, I've used various firmware to include the most recent on SAMMOBILE and I honestly have no idea what else to try, I've even decompressed the tar file and followed instructions on creating a AP.tar and BL.tar.
To recap battery is good stays on in recovery and maintenance with no problem. RP SWREV B:4 K:3 S:3 displays in download mode. Reactivation Lock: ON System Status: Official Current Binary: Samsung Official SM-925V

I could really use help
Ok, so my wife's phone is having the same problem. It is just in a bootloop and will not come out of it after taking it to IFIXIT here in Alabama for a display replacement. Problem is that she took some pictures from when someone rear-ended her in an accident, so she needs the pictures from the phone. Is there anything we can do, or are we SOL?
This is a hardware problem introduced from lazy/rushed/inexperienced/unqualified labor. Never ever trust a local repair shop such as WEBROKEIT. They might have also used the wrong parts, generic clone (not OEM) or cheaper lower grade parts. I would insist they fix the phone -they- incorrectly disassembled/reassembled and/or provide data recovery for free. In the future, only trust Samsung directly or a shop -they- can guarantee. With a top grade OEM display/digitizer/frame assembly costing just under 200USD plus labor, you might as well buy a new phone. http://www.ebay.com/itm/361958487879
