Vodafone SmartPass NFC & Wallet on ROOTED Samsung [UK] Tested on G900F

The Dilemma: Apps wont function on Rooted device, running the application on non-Vodafone firmware won’t work, can’t install Xposed on stock Vodafone firmware.
After about a week of tinkering around I've managed to get this working on my rooted device with custom kernel and xposed installed.
The biggest issue is that there really isn’t really any concise information on the subject so everything was pretty much experimental for me.
Initially I tried using Phoenix S5 Touchwiz Rom, which is built from the latest Samsung firmware for S5, this didn’t work as the SmartPass application kept prompting me to update to the latest firmware although I already was on the latest version available to Vodafone S5's, conclusion is that it’s because it was built from the unbranded FW and not VOD FW.
Things you need:
- Vodafone Branded (SmartPass supported) Phone Apparently (I actually doubt that branding matters because Vodafone don’t supply branded Samsung’s, I believe it’s just the VOD FW that counts)
- Vodafone NFC Enabled SIMcard (You can swap for one in store - It has a little nfc logo on the simcard and its basically a sim that allows the storage of your smartpass credit card details and is used to authenticate the transactions using in-built NFC)
- Be on Vodafone's new billing system (I believe that everybody is now but you can confirm over the phone with Vodafone)
- Latest Stock Vodafone Firmware (I used G900FXXU1BOE2_G900FVFR1BOE2_VOD from Sammobile)
- Latest Odin
- Latest Custom Recovery Odin flashable (I used TWRP)
- Latest SU Binary flashable ZIP
- Selinux Permissive kernel Flashable Zip (I used Boeffla-Kernel for Samsung Stock Android 5.0 Lollipop for G900F)
- Latest Xposed flashable zip for arm7
- Android SDK for ADB
- Samsung usb drivers for S5
- JoelDroid Lollipop Batch Deodexer V 2.4 (2.4 is very important, it doesn’t seem to work on 2.5 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/and.../script-app-joeldroid-lollipop-batch-t2980857)

Unfortunately I'm a very busy guy so I can’t make this guide too comprehensive, it should be easy enough to understand but I recommend not attempting it if you are really unsure of anything.
Please Note that I offer no guarantees and you follow this at your own risk!!!
The Steps:
Official Bit...
1) Use Odin to flash the Stock VOD Firmware you downloaded
2) Boot up and install all the updates and download the Vodafone SmartPass and Wallet Apps
3) Follow the in-app instructions to configure the wallet and smartpass, it should detect your NFC secured simcard and automatically configure. You may need to sign up if you have not already.
4) Ensure you have SmartPass and Wallet working and test it at a pay terminal - if you have any issues during setup you should call the SmartPass team using the phone number in the app.
If your payment gets declined phone the SmartPass team to make sure your NFC chip is activated on the wallet.
5) If you wish to use it on the London Underground or busses you have to login to your Oyster Account online and add the Smartpass virtual card details to your Oyster account as a contactless card, otherwise it’s not authorised and you will get a Red-Light
On to rooting... [Knox will be tripped here]
6) Flash Custom Recovery using Odin
7) Run a Nandroid Backup
8) Flash your permissive kernel in recovery
9) Flash your su binary in recovery
10) Boot device (DONT open Vodafone apps from this point)
11) Enable USB Debugging in developer options and follow the guide listed above for DeOdexing your rom (Remember to only use v2.4)
12) Transfer the flashable ZIP of your deodexed apps you made over to your device
13) Reboot into recovery and flash the Deodexed apps ZIP file then clear Dalvik and cache
14) Perform 1 Boot up - May take a long time to boot
15) Another Backup if you wish might be good at this point
16) Reboot into Recovery and flash Xposed
17) Boot up and install both Xprivacy & Rootcloak Lollipop versions (you may need to enable test versions in settings before you will see them in the download list)
18) Enable both modules and reboot to activate them
19) Add Vodafone SmartPass & Wallet to the Rootcloak list
20) In Xprivacy you need to be very specific with what you deny - See below for details
Xprivacy Configuration
SmartPass App under Shell you must deny only 'exec' & 'su'
Wallet App under Shell you must deny only 'su'
21) Launch the smartpass app and check that it still opens up correctly, displays the NFC symbol and allows you to open the wallet and displays the balance and transaction history.
22) That’s it!
If you get any errors or warnings in the app or if you can’t open the wallet portion, then make sure your xprivacy settings are exactly correct as per above and then delete data for both SmartPass and Wallet apps or even reinstall them as you probably opened them before you finished the process.
Also enjoy your Rooted, Deodexed, Selinux Permissive Stock Vodafone Rom.
I hope this helps anyone experiencing issue with these apps as it was a proper ball ache for me.

Boot to TWRP recovery
Click on "Wipe" button - Swipe to Factory Reset - Click on "Home" (Small house button)
Click on "Install" - Select "Up a Level" - Select "external_ sd" - Select the "rom" - Swipe to confirm flash
Click on "Reboot System"
Optional : when you are in the operating system, delete "Android" directory on external SD card and reboot (It's gonna refresh everything inside)
How to return to full stock
Save the files you want to keep on External SD Card
Boot to TWRP recovery
Click on "Wipe" button - Click on "Format Data" button - Type "yes" to confirm - Click on "Blue button" to confirm (Bottom right)
Click on "Home" button (Small house) - Click on "Wipe" button - Swipe to Factory Reset
Click on "Home" button (Small house) - Click on "Wipe" button - Click on "Advanced Wipe" button - Select "SYSTEM" and "INTERNAL STORAGE" - Swipe to Wipe
Click on "Home" button (Small house) - Click on "Reboot" - Click on "Power OFF"
You good to restart in download mode and flash your original stock rom with Odin

Reported bug : Impossible to see or connect to WIFI 5 ghz networks in US. If you got trouble check your config (Forget the wifi SSID in settings. Dedicate one SSID to 5 Ghz, reboot router, change channel on router etc ...)

Remove any Screen lock type before doing "SYSTEM" backup !!!
"DATA" backup don't include internal storage like "Pictures" and "Download" !!!
Stock Lite update tips :
First do a TWRP backup of "SYSTEM" and "DATA" ! When you are flashing this rom only "SYSTEM" partition and "BOOTLOADER" are wiped and updated.
If you are updating for example from v1 to v3 you will not loose any "DATA".
Feel free to give your feedback (your thoughts) about the packages removed or not. If your world aera is different just ask and I will see what is possible to do.

Installed with out a problem setting everything up now so far everything works perfectly fast and smooth.Thank you so much for your work on this rom well see how everthing runs after a couple days

Hi, you should go back to factory reset with the full stock rom APK6 from your country first to be safe (Even the bootloader is in the Lite rom). At least with the stock rom from your country it's gonna update all partitions include the wifi modem. Then flash again TWRP. Later if you need to reflash any APK6 roms you don't need to go back original stock. Follow the guide to go back to Full stock but instead of "Reboot" - "Power Off" at the end just flash your custom rom.

I will update the links with flashable .zip bootloaders to use in TWRP. Be aware of what you are doing ! When you update bootloader normally you need at least update modem same time.
That's why i recommand first to flash a full stock (APK6) to get all partitions flashed and updated.

Thanks for your work on this... looks really nice and de-bloated. However, I've noticed an issue with my T713: I don't see any 5GHz WiFi networks! The WiFi screen shows the 2.4GHz networks, and I can connect to them with no problem, but 5GHz just doesn't show up. I rolled everything back to stock (Odin flash of APK6), and 5GHz re-appeared and I was able to connect. But when I re-flashed your ROM, the same issue occurred. Any thoughts?

This was kinda my suspicion as well, especially since the Setup guide defaults to "English (UK)". Unfortunately, I'm not well-versed enough to know how to change this... the few bits I've found searching online haven't been useful/relevant.

Yes, I'm in the USA, and the CSC code for the ROM is T713XAR2APL1... I think. I'm new to Samsung flashing, I've almost always dealt with Nexus devices.

I am gonna do an updated T713 rom with your exact country rom. Will be available in about 2 hours. When you are on original stock do you have an advanced wifi setting to choose the band ?

No, there's no interface for selecting the band. I tried modifying the build.prop, but it didn't have any effect on the WiFi, although it did change the default language when I set that.

Sure will do specific roms (T713-T813) for Canadians (XAC) and US (XAR) if it's working after the tests

Just installed the rom. So far so good here. Wifi is good.
I often transfer files to my other tablet. Using shareit app does not connect to my other tablet. I think because hotspot is debloated or removed. I saw hotspot in the debloated files. How can I make Shareit useful again. Should I install back the debloated hotspot functionality? How can I do that?

Need Help with my note 8 Bootloop caused by disabled Packages

Hello Guys...
I Own An Exynos version of Sm-N950F with Latest Oreo Stock firmware version.my USB debugging is enable but OEM unlock button in development menu is not Active.
recently I have installed Package Disabler Pro (Samsung version) and Disabled some bloatware packages to save my battery. Now when I rebooted my phone it will be reset as soon as it shows Lock Screen.
I have retained the List of Disabled Packages with "Adb shell pm list -d" command"

I am not expert or anything. But if you find no answer and No one is able to help you and the only option you have is to lose all data to make the phone work(by reflashing the stock rom), then i would say just download a latest firmware for your model for a country where you bought the phone. and flash it with "HOME CSC" file. And with that i wish you good luck.
i know this post might make you annoy like i shouldn't have posted. and i searched and found nothing if flashing different CSC , format the phone or not as HOME CSC does not format the phone.
if you have time, can you look at this post? someone pointed it to someone who wanted to change csc without wiping data and without rooting device.

You should have backed everything up first, you have disabled things required for your phone to work properly. you should have used something like greenify. For instance, how much battery do you think disabling the cool jazz font was going to save you? Not saying that is the cause of your problem, it just shows you are disabling things without knowing what they do because you think you don't need/want them. A majority of what you have disabled don't even run unless they are specifically called for by the user or a system process, and when they are done android puts them to sleep.

As we have unlocked bootloader on FiteTV 4K stick now, I made Magisk module, which disables OTA updates, and also includes some Google stuff:
Google Search for TV (2.2 or 3.13) with working Voice Input,
LeanbackOnFire (rockon999) Launcher - support Google Search and Android TV Recommendations,
Screen Rotation - allow set proper orientation for mobile Apps,
[*]Buttons Remapper - allow choose Keyboard, reassign Home, switch between Apps and many more,
[*]FireTVjack - allow reassign Home, set Language, and freeze stock KFTV Launcher,
LeanKey Keyboard Pro (it have multilingual support).
Module also adds Russian language instead Portuguese (and Ukrainian instead Japanese) to FireTV Settings menu and have Russian Settings translation over android resources overlays (must be compatible with future OTA updates).

Thanks very much, I'm wondering if you could help me, I've rooted my 4k stick but the stick won't go past setup screen as I think it's been blocked by Amazon, is there any chance you could upload a TWRP backup for me to restore in TWRP so I can get into my home screen ? Or you wouldn't know any commands I can use in TWRP terminal ?

To enable:
- Install MagiskHide Props Config module from repo
- Install busybox module from repo
- Reboot and override those options with props command via shell:

ro.build.type=user to ro.build.type=userdebug

Probably no. There is something weird with fw when placing privileged apps to /system/priv-app. I tried current 7.1 tvstock opengapps package as a module, and it doesn't work (except google search)

@tsynik I cannot get this to work, i unlock bootloader, boot to twrp, install rbox rom then magisk 20.0 reboot to setup then reboot to twrp install your zip file then the commands in your guide wont work.
I am connected to my stick with adb and su but no joy.

Yes, yes, I know that this is not the first thread with activation VoLTE and VoWIFI. But my thread will be more convenient and easier to understand.
ATTENTION ! ! ! These methods were only tested with OnePlus 7 Pro. Not 7,8,910 Series.
ONLY ONEPLUS 7 PRO MODEL ! ! ! So please don't PM me if you haven't OnePlus 7 Pro.​
OnePlus devices support all the most modern services that are offered to their subscribers by mobile operators around the world.
This guide is universal method for VoLTE & VoWiFi activation on both OOS and custom ROMs. Root is needed in some cases.
Before using this guide, please read second post in this article. It is important to understand which firmware is used in your ROM.

On OOS 9.5.9 and higher after entering the code *#800# and *#801# select "EngineerMode"
Instruction:
1. You need to activate IMS service on your Carrier side. On some carrier IMS is activated by default.
2. Install Qualcomm QPST Diag port x64 / QPST 2.7.474 software on your computer (links below)
Important: there should be no other Qualcomm drivers on the computer, disable them, otherwise error messages will appear!
3. Enter * # 800 # in the stock dialer, and then click oneplus Logkit - next - Function Switch - next - activate VoLTE switch, VoWifi switch and VT switch.
Then reboot the device and turn on VoLTE and VoWIFI in the settings of your SIM card (“Settings” –– “WiFi and Internet” ––––– “SIM-card and network” “VoLTE and Calls via WI-FI”). If the switches “VoLTE switch”, “VoWifi switch”, “VT switch” are NOT available in your “oneplus Logkit”, install this version
OEMLogKit.apk or OEMLogKit_1.0-1.apk
and EngineeringMode.apk
4. Now you need to connect your mobile phone to the computer via the “USB cable”.
5. Open the dialer enter this code *#801#.
6. After entering the code correctly, a new menu appears, turn on there "Full-port switch"
7. Now you start the program on your PC: “PDC” from the QPST software package and select your smartphone from the list of connected devices.
8. Right-click on the line “Oversea-Commercial_DS” in the section of the “Deactivate” menu that opens, select “Sub0” and “Sub1”.
9. Next, in the list of available profiles, select "Profile that will be good for your country and Carrier, check the list below", right-click on it and in the section of the menu that opens, select "SetSelectedConfig", "Sub0" and "Sub1".
10. Now again click on the profile line “Profile that will be good for your country and Carrier, check the list below” and below in the program window click the “Activate” button.
11. Now go back to the MENU of item 6 of this menu instruction. Turn off the item "Full-port switch", reboot your smartphone and the VoLTE or VoWiFi logo should be displayed in the status bar.
12. ViLTE (video over LTE) may or may not work, depending on the services of your mobile Carrier.
13. If u have an issue with VoLTE (may go in default setting after reboot - DC Commercial), then do next after step 8 : Click on “Oversea-Commercial_DS” again and below click on the “Remove” button.

If you could not find your country or operator, then there are two options:
1. Try to use: India_Volte_Vodafone or Telefonica_UK_Commercia . Thees are most common modes.
2. Try to search your country and operator here and here
Also if you enabled VoLTE with some config that doesn't represented in the list, then please leave a message in this thread in next format:

This will be helpful for other members of xda community. Also i update list of carriers from time to time.

Doesn't work on custom roms and doesn't even look like you tested this on Android 10 at all.... Which is what most people are using now..

Working fine on PE. It doesn't work, if custom ROM didn't support it

Once you enabled using this method u don't need to do same all over on custom ROM, enable Volte option and restart the ROM and it should works.
And working fine on Android 10 as well.
Working on both tested myself.

Thank you for the guide, is it necessary to actually perform step number 8? Seems so permanent;
9. Now click on “Oversea-Commercial_DS” again and below click on the “Remove” button.
And I see per the previous guide;

Thank u! Added in end of guide (optionally)! Btw i also sometimes have this issue, but on latest beta - just deactivate is good for me too

U need to activate it on ur Carrier side. On most Carriers it's enabled by default.

So, do I need to speak to my operator and request that they activate this service?
as this did not work for me, I think this IMS service is not active in my operator...

when i update i lose these settings

Not working with Bell Canada
I have followed your handy guide with one issue, I can't get it to work for Bell Canada. I have tied multiple varieties. I initially used the Telefonica_UK_Commercial that is listed and made calls drop after 30 sec or so. When I used *#*#4636#*#* and selected the option in the top right and then IMS it showed VoLTE as inactive even though the symbol was present. I tried ATT_VoLTE and it shows VoLTE but no VoWIFI. I'm not sure if it worked or not. IMS showed VoLTE as active. I didn't really leave it to try it as I can't chance more dropped calls. I went back to the Oversea-Commercial_DS as it works for calls. I have contacted my carrier to ensure the IMS settings for VoLTE and VoWiFi are enabled on the carrier side.
2 things, first is you should add to your guide to ensure USB Debugging is enabled as I found it wouldn't work without.
2nd is when I make calls I have the HD symbol while calling, does this not mean it is using VoLTE already even without the symbol present in the status bar? Seems to be conflicting info regarding the HD calls symbol while actually in a call.
Lastly, not going to lie, the VoLTE and VoWiFi symbols are a little obnoxious on the stock ROM. Most other phones are fairly small or just an add on to the existing phone symbol.
Any suggestions for Canadian carriers to verify/ensure this is working correctly?

On OOS 9.5.9 and higher after entering the code *#800# and *#801# select "EngineerMode"
Instruction:
1. You need to activate IMS service on your Carrier side. On some carrier IMS is activated by default.
2. Install Qualcomm QPST Diag port x64 / QPST 2.7.474 software on your computer (links below)
Important: there should be no other Qualcomm drivers on the computer, disable them, otherwise error messages will appear!
3. Enter * # 800 # in the stock dialer, and then click oneplus Logkit - next - Function Switch - next - activate VoLTE switch, VoWifi switch and VT switch.
Then reboot the device and turn on VoLTE and VoWIFI in the settings of your SIM card (“Settings” –– “WiFi and Internet” ––––– “SIM-card and network” “VoLTE and Calls via WI-FI”). If the switches “VoLTE switch”, “VoWifi switch”, “VT switch” are NOT available in your “oneplus Logkit”, install this version

4. Now you need to connect your mobile phone to the computer via the “USB cable”.
5. Open the dialer enter this code *#801#.
6. After entering the code correctly, a new menu appears, turn on there "Full-port switch"
7. Now you start the program on your PC: “PDC” from the QPST software package and select your smartphone from the list of connected devices.
8. Right-click on the line “Oversea-Commercial_DS” in the section of the “Deactivate” menu that opens, select “Sub0” and “Sub1”.
9. Next, in the list of available profiles, select "Profile that will be good for your country and Carrier, check the list below", right-click on it and in the section of the menu that opens, select "SetSelectedConfig", "Sub0" and "Sub1".
10. Now again click on the profile line “Profile that will be good for your country and Carrier, check the list below” and below in the program window click the “Activate” button.
11. Now go back to the MENU of item 6 of this menu instruction. Turn off the item "Full-port switch", reboot your smartphone and the VoLTE or VoWiFi logo should be displayed in the status bar.
12. ViLTE (video over LTE) may or may not work, depending on the services of your mobile Carrier.
13. If u have an issue with VoLTE (may go in default setting after reboot - DC Commercial), then do next after step 8 : Click on “Oversea-Commercial_DS” again and below click on the “Remove” button.
