General ColorOS Experience - OnePlus 10 Pro

Hello All
i have Oneplus 10 PRO Chines version, i am the 2nd owner, i got it pre-installed with oxygenOS, i have tried to enable call recording and it succeeded only with root magisk which affected my banking Apps. also one of my banking apps never open with/without root as it was affected with the unlocked bootloader.
i have decided to move to ColorOS and i was surprised, the OS is very stable, it has built in call recording, the phone Battery has a huge improvement over the OxygenOS i am using the phone almost all the time and the battery percentage barely drops. the OS comes with many chines apps which i removed 90% of it. the battery icon change to green when i connect normal charger and change to blue when i connect the 80W charger. it has a built in Mail app which helps me with my work Email in separate app then Gmail, and i feel the phone is more smooth. and i got ride of the orange warning after locking the bootloader.
one note, google services is supported, i only had to download google play store and install it manually.
the below is the steps for migrating from OxygenOS to ColorOS.
1- Downgrade to OxygenOS 12 A17 4.2 GB
2- Install ColorOS 12 A13 6.6 GB
3- OTA ColorOS to 12 A19 about 5.5 GB
4- OTA ColorOS to 13 about 6.5 GB
5- OTA ColorOS to 13 11_C_28 "this is the Latest OTA" 1.5 GB
Warning I have followed a guide here which downgrade to OOS 12 then upgrade directly to COS 13, and my SIM cards did not work neither connecting the phone to PC, i had to use the above yes huge amount of wasted bandwidth but safe and functional.
i wanted to share my experience to help the others, IMPORTANT my phone is Chines N2210 so it comes with ColorOS and it is safe to install it, i don't know if you can install ColorOS on different models. i did not test it and i will not recommend it.

I really recommend testing ColorOS. I'm using C.52 and liked oppo apps. The only reason i sometimes i think go back to OOS, its my language, ColorOS dont have portuguese.

COS has a bunch more spyware. As far as the banking apps, you can hide root access to apps individually.

Can I install it on a NE2215?

are you sure you did it properly? if all you did was install magisk and configure denylist, you did not do everything possible.
you have to use AND ALSO configure 2 additional magisk modules. in addition, you should clear data for a few android services. research a little better and you will pass literally any root check for any app, including banking, market trading, literally anything. it hides bootloader unlock as well as root. the only thing we cannot ever get is full widevine access for full HD netflix (but this is due to OnePlus screwing something up, not because root access and unlock cannot be properly hidden)
you need to look into installing AND CONFIGURING "Universal SafetyNet Fix", AND "MagiskHide Props Config". you can learn how online. good luck.

Can you share the link for ColorOS 12 A13?, I already downloaded a version from 4pda But it doesn't show up in the local update.
Now I'm wondering if I can directly use the coloros rollback to switch roms

How go back to OOS?

Hi, I'm also having the same device NE2210. My bootloader is relocked by the seller.
To go back to Color OS do I need to unlock the boot loader? and follow your instructions.
Did you relocked the bootloader after installed the colorOS ?

Block ads

Hi,
Is it even possible to block ads on Instagram and youtube and facebook apps? I literally tried all the block ads apps that I could find without any success
I've tried many and they don't work really.
The best ever I've used was Energized Protection which is a Magisk Module and must be rooted to use that. Since it's impossible to like root P30 Pro, it's like useless.
Even if you do root, why would anyone want to go to Android 9.1
If you find something that works, be sure to let others know

Oh that's good, you're rooted!
You need to install Magisk and once installed, look for the module "Energized Protection".
Follow the installation steps they provide you.
More info: https://energized.pro/
Alternatively you can use NetGuard : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.faircode.netguard
I would suggest to support the developer and use the Pro Version.
Once NetGuard is installed, look at my screenshots, please go to Options > Advanced Options
Turn on:
- Filter Traffic
- Filter UDP Traffic
- Block Domain Names
Go to Settings > Backup
then from the energized protection website, you can use the block list in txt and paste it into NetGuard's Host file Download, so it indicates to use the list to block Ads.
I can confirm with NetGuard: No more Google Ads and other miscellaneous ads on websites, I'm also not seeing any Ads using the XDA app. ☺
Im using the "Basic" package blocklist from Energized Protection website.
If you want premium YouTube services, consider upgrading to YouTube Vanced.
https://vancedapp.com/
You'll have to download MicroG and add your Google Account. Once after you set that up, you can install YouTube Vanced.
Follow those steps correctly and no more Ads or Commercials.
I don't use Facebook, Instagram or Twitter so can't say if it will block those Ads, I'm assuming it will. Please test and let me know.
Thanks
Jaysmith696
Thank you so much for your detailed tutorial! I actually tried Energized Protection option and it did not work on Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube apps. I also tried adaway and it did not work either.
Since I couldn't block ads, I went ahead and updated my device to EMUI 10 because I don't like EMUI 9 and there's no point in using it.
I also could not install TWRP on my device. Is there any solution to install custom ROM on P30 Pro? If there's a way to do that, I'll downgrade to EMUI 9 and root my phone again and install a custom ROM. Thank you.

Hi,
You're welcome!
Unfortunately I don't know of any custom ROMS for P30 Pro, I'm stock and just using NetGuard to block my ads, working great so far no ads for me.
I used same setup on my old Nova 5T and didn't work with NetGuard, but seems to work perfect on P30 Pro.
YouTube Vanced shouldn't have any Ads.

Question MIUI Launcher with Google Discover

Hi all, Happy User of the CN Mi 11 Ultra. Everything works well so far. The only feature I currently miss is the Google Discover feed on the left screen.
I know that global launcher added this option. Is there any chance to add via side loaded APK?
The only way is to flash global ROM
Why is it so? I was able to install externally downloaded MI Launcher apks. But it seems all of them did not have Google Discover. Could somebody please post the launcher APK from the global ROM?

What security do you degrade exactly? Which aspect of it?
Imagine loosing your phone with Crypto Wallet on it. Which one can be hacked easier - with bootloader lock or without.
And please don't start on how secure unlocked bootloader is. It's just not. Having ability to flash anything on top of the original ROM via fastboot just opens a lot of additional attack vectors. And TWRP will make everything even easier for the attackers. And no I am not paranoid but doing this just for Google Discover is a no go. I would then rather wait and buy a global version of the phone.

You have a very poor understanding of technology if you think it does
Here you have one version of miui launcher that has a google discover instead app vault, and it works in any miui version.
Is there any version of MIUI Launcher for Global ROM that has a double tap to lock the phone?

It,s a great news how to reinstall , i have reinstalled but nothing working even youtube gmail account play store...
I have uninstalled all google apps with revo uninstaller , and reinstalled all by the chineese app (downloaded from getapps miui store). It work but youtube show error message , don't install update for google services it will stop working.
Amazing!
Maps and photos working?
Google maps show messages: update google sevices .. and crashs, google photos work .
After changing google account it stop again, and can't install, it show that google play service is installed in second space or kid space, is there a solution to this problem
maybe you can use MicroG, the method maybe same like installing it on Huawei's HarmonyOS since they have no GMS framework too.
Best solution is that( use link for google play services for android 11)
The problem persist, is there a solution???

Question how to ROOT redmi note 10 pro (Miui Global)13.0.10

I've checked youtube and some online articles, but almost ROOT is limited to MIUI 12 or MIUI 13.0.5 or below, if anyone is sure of rooting my system, please share the corresponding youtube link or the corresponding online article

Advice in this case.
Don't root if you are in a hurry
Bootloader unlock is at least 7 days waiting
Backup before and restore after format is again a couple of hours
Brick is a couple of weeks or papermate

I don't have any data and can format at any time,
I hope to achieve ROOT as soon as possible, Maybe 7 days can also wait or over 7 days,
I was wondering if there is an exact way?
Of course, I also hope that it will not become a brick,
Why should I root?
Because I'm very disgusted with the monitoring and security software that comes with the mobile phone system, I don't need these software and management, I am use to assured of Google's management, and don't need mobile phone security App,

There is a lot of information how to unlock and root your Xiaomi device.
So I won't give you a detailed guide.
- Start with bootloader unlock
- While waiting 7 days, study how to go further and download everything you need.
- Like ADB, Twrp or Orangefox, Magisk, Custom rom and optional Gapps
...................... Studying before next actions is necessary to avoid a brick ..........................................
- After 7 days, unlock
- Flash with fastboot, recovery (Twrp or Orangefox)
- Reboot to recovery
- Follow flash and format instructions of desired Rom
- Flash Magisk for root
PS
Please don't shout anymore for root in a hurry

Question Should I go with rooting of Mi 11 Ultra?

I'm from India and have been using the Mi 11 Ultra v13.0.5.0 (SKAINXM) since November 2021. However, I'm disappointed to learn that the MiUI14 update is not yet available for the Mi 11 Ultra (STAR) in India.
I understand that rooting a phone has many advantages, but I'm unsure whether or not to root my Mi 11 Ultra. Could you please suggest some Magisk Modules and APKs that can help me get the most out of rooting my device, including improving the performance of the Stock Mi-Camera and Leica Camera for rooted phones?
I've already submitted a request to Xiaomi to unlock my bootloader, and timeline of 168Hrs has passed.
I would appreciate any advice you could offer.
You can use Miflash and install a stock MIUI14 version or a Xiaomi EU rom(better than stock)Stable or Weekly.

These roms are stock based and do not add or remove bands.
I recommend a Weekly rom (latest Xiaomi features. updated every week).
Hybrid rom, installable with TWRP or with a PC.
The first installation requires formatting the data with the TWRP or using the First install.bat file included in the folder extracted from the zip.
Back up your data before. (MIcloud for example).
Then the updates will be done either with OTA+TWRP or the Update.bat file with a PC.

I rooted by MI 11 ultra but unfortunately PayTM & BHIM UPI banking apps are not working anymore even after tagging them on Magisk. I don't have any other wayout except unroot my phone. I am presently v13.0.5.0 SKAINXM flahsed patched boot.img through Magistk in fastboot mode.
I want to know how to unroot the mobile so that I can use banking apps. I have factory reset by phone but that didn't changed anything and my banking apps still showing rooted phone.
Kindly help.
Unroot with Magisk then delete Magisk and the Magisk folder(s).
If the bootloader remains unlocked, banking apps may not work.

Xiaomi Eu rom remains the best alternative.
Here you can see how to bypass Safety Net with Magisk. No need to unroot because it may not solve the problem.
SafetyNet is deprecated!
Wallet and other apps (particularly Google apps) use Play Integrity API, make sure to pass BASIC_INTEGRITY and DEVICE_INTEGRITY
There are threads with instructions and everything on XDA
---
Playstore, Settings, About, tap several times on the version number until you become developer
Then go to Settings, General, newly unleashed Developer options, Play Integrity - Check Integrity
Thanks a lot dear friends for your suggestions.
