[Q] Z3C basically ready for Dual-SIM? - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Under the same flap which covers the SIM there appears to be a second slot available (please see picture).
Anyone having an idea of what could that be used for? Is it that the Z3C is basically prepared/designed to run two SIMs maybe?

That is the D6633 model of the phone which has dual nano sim.
According to white papers other models only have a single slot.
http://blog.clove.co.uk/2014/09/22/sony-xperia-z3-z3-compact-white-papers/

Not exactly and I'm aware of the Z3 being available as single- and dual SIM variants. This, however, is a picture of the Z3C...

photo was taken from website above^
which says it has a nano sim slot and a microSD slot

Yes, the picture is a shot of that site. It's also correct that the Z3C has a nano-SIM slot and a micro-SD slot. No doubt about it, yet they are covered by different flaps!
Upper flap:
1.) USB connector and
2.) microSD.
Lower flap:
1.) nano SIM
2.) ??? <--- This is the one in question.
I've added pictures of what's under the upper as well as the lower flap. Hope it's now clear to see.

blimey, it really looks like a second nanoSIM slot

It's probably the fcc certification and imei paper in there

No, it is not the fcc certification / imei paper. Please check the picture attached above of what is under the hood of the lower flap. The fcc certification / imei paper is below these two slots.

Yep, that's the white one, the largest of them all, placed below.
Above it, there are two slots, side by side, which both look like nanosim slots.

Anyone with a phone in their hands looks to see if these are really dual nano sim slots?

I would be very interested in this too.

Have a look towards the top (left) on the picture. It looks to me that there is a spot for another controller and a SIM card slot (look at the solder pad arrangements).
Anyone else think this may happen?

That is my guess as well. Check out,

while the processor can support it, i can say that the feeling i get is that B&N is moving away from 3G.

[Q] SHV-E160K / S - microUSB connector with flex cable of a GT-N7000

I have a Korean SHV-E160K (Olleh version) with a borked USB connector.
After days of research I came to the conclusion I should ask the experts~
The broken part has "SHV-E160S_Rev0.8" printed on. (Where the S is whitened out, since it's the K type ofc loll).
Seemingly both devices use the same USB connector module.
Is it worth the risk to buy a GT-N7000 micro USB module such as the one I could order on Amazon to use in my SHV-E160K?
Or is it safe to say that it's not worth the try?
I'm not sure if I should continue searching for the Korean one if I could get an "international" one much easier...
TIA
Soo Star
Of course it is
News from nowhere.
if its the same rev code it is possible. if it doesnt cost much its worth a shot. the rev code thats printed on the flex cables is important.
SHV-E160K Note repaired
After mounting it,
-Speaker works
-Microphone works
-USB connector works
Although the part I ordered clearly was labeled to be for a GT-N7000, the part received had "SHV-E160S REV0.8" upon alike it's predecessor just without the whitened out part.
img199.imageshack(.)us/img199/7522/keibeul.png
The only difference was the write on the clip of the connector itself.
It says E160S, on the damaged cable it says E160K(KT) - for my Olleh (Korean phone provider). - as shown on photo
img194.imageshack(.)us/img194/5938/clipi.png
If that will have any impact on LTE/4G connectivity I can only verify next time I go to Korea, since we don't have any type of 4G network in Switzerland.

Note 3 Sim Card removal

It appears to me every day I spend using the note 3 I discover a new issue and a totally different way to do previously simple things to do.
For one why is Samsung shooting itself in the foot with its backward design of a Micro-SD slot on top of the MicroSim card slot and making this latter stuck?
Second, how do you guys remove the SIM card from the phone without damaging the thing?

Push down on the area of the sim card that is exposed and then push it out

i found it so hard to remove the sim, sucks
How often do you need to remove your sim? I laugh on xda daily at some of the things people consider "issues".

I remove my sim every day to switch it to my work phone since I work in an environment that is easy to destroy phones. Yes, its a total hassle....best way is to use a razor blade. It will pop it right out and not damage the working part...just a small cut in plastic for grip.

Its a cheesy that's for sure. I cringe every time I have to remove my micro sd card, it just feels cheap, like it may break the next time I put my sd card back in the slot.
I put a little bit of tape on it to pull it out

Inside the package containing the extra tips for the S Pen there's a tool.
The same tool is used to remove the Sim as well as replace the tips

Try pushing down on the exposed part with a pencil eraser and slide it out.

Good Idea. I already dug a little hole in my sim, so I merely put a sharp pointer in the existing hole and slide it down and out.

the best way I found was to remove MicroSD and then press down hard on it with your fingernail then pull back.
So simple, so easy.
Thanks.

Not using LTE - swap band on Urbane 2nd Edition?

As the title implied, I don't plan on using my watch for LTE purposes at all. I only bought it because it is the best spec'd smartwatch by far on the market today.
That being said, I dislike the average looking rubber bands. I know the antennae is concealed within them, but is it possible to remove the bands and replace with a more conventional style? My only fear here would be that, 1. the antennas may also be used for WiFi/BT, and 2. the antennas may not be easily attached/detached - could possibly be bare wire running from the housing into the bands, which really may not be a good idea to try to remove and would kill waterproofing.

Not sure if it'll help, but you could take a look at the internal/external photos and see if you can figure it out (I can't ).

Well, they look easily removable - whether or not that permanently renders LTE or the device nonfunctional is another question LOL. But maybe swapping other variants of the Urbane 2 bands is possible... say maybe the white or brown leather. A regular watch band is definitely out of the question I think... the band is obviously custom designed specifically for the Urbane 2.
the original rubber band it so much stiff and uncomforble !
I sold lg urbane 2 besouse of that and back to my moto 360 sport

Here is a better site for the teardown. Check out the different tabs at the top to see more pictures. Pretty nice site for seeing the internal parts. They have several watches on there. http://www.ewisetech.com/Device/SmartWearable/2317/Hilit
Did you ever change the bands?
I am curious as we... Does any band work if you don't care about LTE FUNCTIONALITY? If yes, what band size?
Hi there.
I recently bout one of these. I live in the UK and purchased it from the USA on eBay.
I purchased it from someone that had already bought the brown leather band so I have the black standard one that it comes with and the brown leather one.
It is fairly easy to swap, it is a torx head screw on either side holding it in place and the strap just pulls out once the screws are undone. ( The strap has the antenna built in and its a sort of microchip style on the end that plugs into the watch)
I can also confirm for anyone that wants to know that the watch function does work in the UK.
Brown leather straps can be bought from amazon.com and shipped to the uk.
Hope this helps.

Who plans on getting a Z Fold 2?

I figured I'd start the conversation.
It took everything I had to not get the original fold and what really stopped me was the outter display size.
The 2 really is a huge improvement and I'm super excited to get one.
I'm planning on getting it especially since Verizon is going to offer it this time around.
I'm on the list at Clove although I'll buy in the US if the available unlocked variants can be rooted.
I plan on getting it. Love my Note 10+ and feel like it's time for a change. Does anybody know what carriers will be getting it?

According to cnet I believe, it will be available directly with T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon.
That said even the first fold was unlocked and would work with even Verizon even though it wasn't in their stores.

I was the same on the outer display size on the 1, and the fact that alot of people were going to wait for the 2nd Gen anyway, or would this be 3rd since the Z Flip exists? I am 80% that I'm gonna purchase. MIne will be an ATT variant.
I'm getting it and I'm very excited!
Looking forward to this as well as Note 20 Ultra, question though: will it have dual sim (hybrid - sd card slot / sim tray #1 / esim or dual slot - sim tray #1/sd card & sim tray #2), will it be 512 gb or 1 tb, and snapdragon variant ?

It will be one sim maybe esim no sd card 256gb variant only and snapdragon 865+ only
And will be getting the z fold 2 through tmobile I have the fold one that im typing from now i love this device even with the smaller outter screen its actually pretty use full when you only have one hand free its not as bad as people say most comment coming from people that don't even own it.
I'm getting it. Here's to hoping T-Mobile will offer it!
60hz front screen will suck but I suspect I'll use the main display more often. Hoping also that the camera quality will be acceptable. I've gotten used to the amazing GCam port on my OnePlus 8 Pro, but I'm quite sick of the issues that the phone has with WiFi and the curved edges. Flat screen Z Fold 2 = can't get here soon enough.

The flat screen on my V60 was one thing that made me realize I really don't care for the curved edge screens... Glad the Z Fold 2 screens are flat.
It just so much money. But the enthusiast in me says this is the one. The 1st gen felt exactly like that and I had been burned before. A-hem HD-DVD! I think if you consider this a replacement for a tablet and a phone it becomes slightly less sickening to think of the cost.

I thought of the tablet angle as well. If I get this phone I won't be upgrading my Tab S4.
Is it weird I want the fold 2 and still considering a tab s7 plus if the fold 2 gets the 200 Samsung credit the note 20 ultra is?

It's more weird that I've read this post about 5-7 times and still don't understand what you meant. Could you possibly reiterate using punctuation?

I would be coming from the Note 10+. I like the Note 20 ultra, but think I really want a change. I was unsure about no SD card, but will be keeping my note 10 as backup. I would assume your experience with the Fold was a good one.

person asked was it weird that he or she wants the fold2 if samsung were to add the accessory credits (150 dollar credit plus 50 dollar early sign up credit) to the tab s7+ preorder.
well we don't know if samsung will do that (do we?), but if they did i dont think its weird that someone would still want the fold 2.
me personally, ive already bought the 512gb ultra 5g, and will order the fold 2 and tab s7+. it would be nice if I can trade my s6 lte in for the s7+.

I currently have the Note 9 and was planning on upgrading to the Note 20 Ultra but after seeing some of the improvements being made to the Fold 2, I think I'm going to jump to it instead.
I cannot decide. I have an Aura Blue s20+ right now... I don't like how big it is and I've always liked Sony's candy bar phones (tall&skiny). I think the fold 2 folded will be easier to hold than the s20+
...but going from the s20+ to the fold 2 what am Iosing? Time of Flight (ToF) camera, microSD card slot and zoom in mic
...but I get a better finger print reader and SD865+ (better than SD865).
I love the dark blue colour my s20+ is... I'm so MAD they gloss block and didn't MATTE BLACK! why would they Matte the rose pink gold but not matte black...
