Wife lost note 4 - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

OK so long story short, my wife claims someone stole her note 4 while at the swap meet. Her first mistake was having it resting on the baby stroller where anyone can snatch it, instead of in her pocket/purse. I already called t-mobile to suspend that account and blacklist it, how much is it gonna cost me to get a new or refurbished device if I'm on the jump/protection plan.

I think 150 or 200 somewhere along that line

150 dollars, and you will get a new phone, its too early for returns in order to have refurbished ones

Why didnt you just ask how much it was gonna cost to replace it when you callled to report it stolen?

Thanks, that doesn't seem too bad. She is going crazy without her note 4 lol. Her previous phone was a galaxy ring on virgin mobile so she had quite the upgrade haha.

150 and definitely a refurbished one. Make sure you tell em you need everything battery cover phone s pen and so forth
BAD ASS NOTE 4

Did you use android device manager to look for it? What about Samsung locate online on your account? You do know that these items are built in the phone by default?

$150 insurance deductible.
Had to pay that when my Note 3 fell into the toilet.
Don't text and pee.

Sorry to hear that. Note 4 falls into the $175 category
you can process the claim online or at 866-866-6285
https://myphpinfo.com/#aths

Note 4 is 175 ... Its the top premium device. Up there with iPhone and S5. Also considered a phablet the restocking fee us 75 and not the usual 50 if you want to return

It says 50 on my box........

Then the employees in your store just put the wrong sticker on and don't know what there doing. I can guarantee if you want to return it the system would have auto generated a 75 dollar restocking fee and the manager would have to adjust it. Same thing with iPhone 6 plus. They have tablet deductibles and restocking fees

Maybe you need to calm down ... I clearly just said employees make the error all the time and managers can change or remove it if need be. Nobody assisted me. I work for the company 40 hours a week. I know what I'm talking about its been like that since the note 2. If your box has a 50 sticker they are going to abide by that. But its 75 restocking for the note 4 and 6 plus. Idk why your so avid about a restocking fee for a phone you most likely CANT even return.....but calm down

Now you need to get the app GOTYA. would of probably saved your phone. it would of sent an email to you with a photo taken of the thief and the location & what wifi they are connected too and such...also register your Sim card with the app and only yours will work/& emails you the details. Every single time they fail to put correct password you will get am email I got the pr0 just for good measures.

Lookout does the same, and is free with jump t-mobile

Just called my local Tmobile store they said the restocking fee for the Note 4 is $50

How Google gave me a FREE Nexus 7

This is sooo cool I had to share it with u guys.
So I was one of the first ones to per order the nexus 7
When I did it charged my card but the payment did not go through because it said there was something wrong with my card (I've use this card to make all of my google payments so it was kind of odd)
I remove and re added the card and that seemed to fix it.
on the 11th it'd attempted to charge my card but it didn't go through.
A few days latter I called customer service and they told me to remove and re add the card again but that didn't helped so after an hour with customer service the guy told me to just go to a store and buy it there and they will still give me the 25 dollar gift card.
I went the next day and as soon as I come on out of the store I received an email from google letting me know that my order has been shipped, I was really mad because I would be charged again so I called customer service and they told me to just denied the package when it arrives, 10 minutes later after talking to customer service I received an email that said my order was canceled because my card could'nt be charged (I'm sure I had enough funds).
the next day I wake up AND IT WAS THERE, A BRAND NEW NEXUS 7
I quickly check my bank statement and I was never even charged so I was thinking there something wrong with their ordering system

His supervisor came on and said they could not believe i called to let them know this. And he asked me if would like to add a warranty on the second Device.for same cost of the one i bought. the device was a high end printer direct from hp. I said i cant afford to pay for the second one nor did i need it.. He said TO give it to a neighbor or sell it on ebay. And that they are going to let me keep it. Just out of being honest..

Thanks for being a decent and honest human being!
Completely inaccurate title. Google did not "give" you a free Nexus7. They accidentally shipped you one without charging you first.
What YOU chose to do now is up to you, but bragging about it on XDA seems to be a bit stupid. Either keep it and hope they don't send you a bill, or contact them and offer to pay for it or have them ship it back.
Screw that, keep the nexus! If you found a $20 bill on the ground in a mall, what would you do with it? Probably keep it. Right?
It was Google's mistake not yours

Trust me let's say your keys or your money would fall off your purse I would give it to you right away... We all work hard to earn our money... Worth Ave insurance quote AMAZING

I just called Worth Ave. If My wife takes 1 single online course. They will give her a college bundle discount with a $25 dollar deductible for up to 4K of insurance!!!!
For...drum rolllllllll.......
$110 a year. She just has to be enrolled first. Unreal. Best deal EVER.
Oh...and after the course is done...we can keep the bundle package as long as we don't let it lapse year to year after that.
4K of insurance (laptop, phone, camera, lens) accidental damage, or theft...for $110 a year.
Done deal. Better than home owners insurance even.
You are welcome.
Oh...normally it costs about 100 per 1K of insurance per year AND $50 deductible.
So..for $800 it is around $80 a year and a $50 dollar deductible (without the college bundle).
sooo..you're saying this is better than asurion?

Deductible Amount: $25.00
Price:
$72.00
-$10.80
$61.20
Processing Fee: $5.00
Total: $66.20
You can't go beneath 2K (so..laptop and cell phone coverage basically)
Seriously. Link below to the losses covered.

I'm actually buying today for a 4K policy for $90 bucks. Today bad I didn't do this before my wife dropped the phone. But...anyway.
One thing to keep in mind is they do not cover theft unless a police report is provided and proof of burglary. They also do not replace lost phones.
Asurion is better in that since, but you definitely pay for it lol.

lol I suppose you can do that, but they specifically state they will not replace lost/stolen phones if "forced entry" is not apparent. (ie leaving it on your couch, or in an unlocked car). If your cars window is smashed, they will happily replace it if you file a police report haha. not sure your window will be worth it though.

How much insurance do I need for my Note 2? I see on Sprint without an upgrade it costs $650. I'm guessing that amount?
EDIT: I can't buy anything more than $599 on a "cell phone". How do I get more?
EDIT 2: I called them. The most they offer on non-iphones is $599. So if you break your phone tomorrow, you'll have to pay the $50 deductible and then another $50 to buy the phone from Sprint. I'm guessing the price will go down eventually.

You can take a single online course and be allowed to have the insurance.
You purchase the insurance and choose the closest college to you. Then you call them up and tell them what online course you are doing. they told me they didn't care if it was for Photoshop...Lightroom..an Adobe product....or a pottery class. I'm not kidding.
I think this thread has ran its course, along with its sales man.

Hey senior member. Do you see how long I have been in XDA? Do you see how many threads I have posted? My wife shattered her phone. Want to see a pic of it? Not everyone is a scam artist working for a company dude.

But don't troll in here assuming someone is trying to scam you just because they are discussing insurance for a PHONE unless you have something productive to offer..
Paranoid often?
Edit: I have renters insurance. Doesn't cover dropping your phone. And it has a $500 deductible. I know my stuff. I'm a research-a-holic.
By the way...this is post 666...don't mess with me. lol
So was the student quote you got to cover both you and your wife? I'm in the same boat as you, I want these things covered with a cheaper option than sprint is offering once I get my replacement.

WUH! Ebay wants 10%!

So I went to post my ATT Note 3 on Ebay right. Well, after a very confusing post, I finally found they want 10+% of the sale, which means for me to even get $700 for the phone, I'd have to list it for $777.. Nobody's gonna pay that!
And believe you cannot just immediately delete a post from Ebay. You can one time, and then after that, if there's a bid, you pay the 10% to delete! I won't be using Ebay I can see. Not unless someone is willing to give me $700 plus the $70 for ebay. Damn. Craigslist!
I need to find a way to let ebay people know about my craigslist ad. 10% is too high.

Jump users can't participate since they cannot trade-in a phone in addition to the one that they're returning (the EIP one).

Some people claim that they did (big mouths with no proof), but you can't. If you got to my-tmobile and click on trade-in you have to give the order number and phone number and you will get a message that you have already reached the maximum amount of trade-ins for that order (namely your jump device)

so the trade-in is unrelated to your jump upgrade order, anyone could do that

I effectively got $300 credit from my gs4 that still had a year of $25 payments on it... I'm plenty happy with that credit that really makes the Samsung promo null and void even if I COULD use it.
I was already paying $12 bucks a month on insurance before the JUMP! Program and un-plan came along. I lowered my bill over $20(was ~$188) even after I got unlimited everything family plan($80), increased my data cap 2 gigs on my line for a total of 3($10), got jump for $10 per line, not $12 like insurance was($20), and financed 2 phones($20 & $25 for a total of $163 after various taxes) and i get to JUMP! twice a year per line after the first 6 months passed, that's 4 phones a year for only taxes, which is lower then the "plan discounts" you used to get every 2 years!
....I'm plenty happy with JUMP! and no sammy promo on a full priced phone, tmobile is the one losing money, that's for sure.

and, yes, if you keep the phone for 2 years, and pay it off, its yours, but I doubt many folks who follow XDA keep ANY phone for 2 years..
Ive only payed a year on mine and owe 280 and according o the check out, im only getting the 280 to pay it off.

So they are effectively giving you 280 for your phone, $80 more than the Samsung credit...
I'm on the old jump plan also... I didn't even realize it changed till this upgrade and was reading the new terms... still an ALRIGHT plan, but the original is a steal... you really are only stuck for the first 6 months, or = to 1/4th the value the original phone, then you can jump twice a year after that n that literally means i can jump now to the note 4 and if I want, jump again in 2 months to the note edge.
If I DO want to keep any phone for 2 years also, I'm paying for the base price of the phone, interest free... n i was already paying more for insurance anyways, so in my case the monthly fee for the jump plan isn't even a knock against me(that 240 bucks for 2 years of jump+insurance is less than just old insurion @$288 for 2 years) n I'm actually likely to use the plan, where I maybe used insurance once in 7 years.
yeah, alot of folks forget that jump includes Insurance AND Lookout Premium for free; its not just a "tax" to be able to change phones frequently
I also had jump, but I didn't use it, since they want the phone back, i pre-order the note4 and do a trade in
i had a verizon i4 which tmobile gave me 203buck for it and i5 which is icloud lock and i got 232buck all in credit. i think i got a good deal with 2 useless phone. i talked to a rep u can trade in as many smart phone as u want as long as it not broken doesn't matter if it icloud lock. if that help somebody
is it possible if i trade my galaxy s3 into where i work (ATT) and pre order the note 4 from t mobile and still get $200?

[Q] Not being charged EIP?

Ordered my note 4 about 2 weeks after it's release. I've just gotten what I think is my 5th, at least the 4th, bill. I've yet to be charged an EIP payment. It even says there is no EIP on the account. Is it possible TMO screwed up and gave me a free phone? I know I've had plenty of screwups with them before, just never on the positive side for me. Anyone else ever have an issue like this? I don't want to bring it to their attention if they don't know, that's be dumb. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Wow, this is an interesting one. I work at tmobile. I can tell you that you would have signed an EIP agreement when you purchased the phone if you got it in store. This agreement would show how many payments you are making over the next 24 months for the phone. If you never got one of those, and you have a receipt for the full price of the phone, i think you should take the money and run haha, that sounds like a free phone. If you wish for someone to check the account without charging you for the mistake - I can give it a little overview when I get in today at 1pm PST - you'll have to PM me tho, these are private matters and I still need to follow the rules haha.

Haven't been on in a while but wanted to come back and say this is now my 7TH bill! No EIP payment anywhere. What the hell do I do? I wonder if it has anything to do with me being a customer back when phones were subsidized still? Just very strange and don't want to bring it to their attention if I don't have to, they've screwed me before so...
BTW, I didn't pay full price only the taxes when I ordered online, I believe I electronically signed an EIP but no receipt for full payment obviously though. It does show on the TMO website as being available for use with them, which, it obviously already is.

Same thing happened to a guy I work with, with his iPhone 6 plus he waited and waited and nothing. So he finally called in just to make sure his accnt was OK and after the overview there is no record of his eip. So it's ur free phone

I wonder if I ask them in chat if I'm eligible for an EIP on the S6, that should tell me. They won't let me if I owe them for my Note 4 right?

Worth a try. Check the imei on their website to see if it says anything about it being owed. Or on my tmobile under billing. It shows what phone you have financed and how much you owe and paymemts left.

It says in billing I have no EIP on this account. Maybe I'll pick up the Gear S just to see what they say about the EIP and to play with it for a few days. Hmm..
I think the same thing just happened to me. I Pre-Ordered the Galaxy S7 Edge on T-Mobile, and it arrived on February 29th. I have now received my 2nd bill and they still haven't charged me for the phone, and the account doesn't list an active EIP on my line.
If I went to the phone section to try an upgrade it said "You are a Jump Customer. You are ineligible to jump because you have no Active Equipment Installment Plan" Since they said I couldn't jump I proceeded to take Jump off of my line and the next day when I go to the same page, there is a large "Upgrade" button next to the picture of the S7. Is that basically a confirmation that I own this phone and T-Mobile screwed the pooch?
