Recommendation for a Battery Replacement? - Xiaomi Mi MIX Questions & Answers

Has anyone found a good seller for a battery replacement? The one I found on Ebay sold a BM4C battery but after a couple of weeks of testing I noticed the charge wasn't what I was used to. Using battery monitoring apps I found it was only charging up to around 60% cap. Looking for a better replacement.

Same here. Took the hassle to change my battery to finally have the exact same charge.

After a bad experience with ipartsexperts (~58% capacity according to Accubattery), I got a very good one from AliExpress. A new battery 2020-04. Got 88% capacity, almost like new.

Thanks. Is it hard to replace ? Never did on a Mi Mix.

It depends if you ever opened a sealed phone before. It was my second time. It is not that hard and I used two YouTube video specifically made from the Mi Mix to guide me. A good suction cup and credit cards are your friends. Some tools came with the battery and may be sufficient, but I invested in better tools for my first time.
One tricky part is that I didn't notice that a screw was under a Mi sticker and had a hard time to remove the plate over the motherboard, but once you see it, it is easy.

How is the battery holding up for you? I got mine in December and it was working well in the beginning (3800-4100 mAh according to BattteryGuru) but now after two months it's down to <1000 mAh.

Is there a battery available for the HD2 with greater capacity than the stock unit, that fits in the same battery slot? I'd like to upgrade without having to replace the back cover or use a bulky addon.
I purchased an Andida 1600mAh battery on eBay about two months ago. It has a six (6) month warranty, and fits my HD2 US version without any problems.
So far, I've been happy with it. It lasted through an entire round (4.5 hours) of golf yesterday powering the GolfLogix GPS application, and for me it routinely lasts several hours or more longer than the T-Mobile US stock battery.

I got one of these and it lasts longer than the stock battery by quite a while, but again ebay so buyer beware ....
Can you direct me to a link to the battery?

Sorry, I can't provide a link. eBay only shows purchases won over the past 60 days, and I bought my battery prior to that. However, I did save the battery's packaging. The website for Andida is:
http://www.andida.hk
The ID number for my battery is: GB/T 18287-2000, if that helps.

Is 1600mAh the largest battery available without changing the back panel?
Screen shots of the "official" extended battery with the kickstand make it very unappealing. Before I switched out of my Dash, I bought a replacement battery at Radio Shack. Same size, but better specs - 1100 mAh instead of the stock 900 mAh. Nice improvement. Been checking RS online, nothing yet.

I went to the ebay link for the 1600mah battery (that the WATCHER posted)... when I looked at the pic posted for the auction it shows a 1450mah battery.. can you confirm that you received a 1600mah battery (PICS PLEASE?!!?)

The one I got is a 1600mah, looks just like that one, except it says 1600mah
i also purchased the same andida battery from hong kong via ebay. increase in battery life was noticeable but not by that much. however, the battery is quite a steal in terms of pricing considering you need a backup or second battery.
I have a different perspective on these extended batteries: I actually prefer the one that adds to the overall device thickness! I have always been concerned about these very thin devices - you can easily crack the display. An extended battery gives the HD2 more robustness.

Not really, its more heavier now. Meaning, it can have more potential to break lol.

Eager to read your results with this one, just might be the battery I go with.
Only took 7 days to receive. Fits fine, works fine. After 2-3 charging cycles (as was stated on the eBay page), I'm clearly getting more charge time from this battery than the stock battery.
Plus, you get a nice little tin case

3200mAh Battery for Nexus 5

(Cross-post from Nexus 5 Subreddit : http://www.reddit.com/r/Nexus5/comments/3563p9/3200mah_battery_available_for_nexus_5_on/ )
Hi everyone,
I was looking through the Nexus 5 batteries on AliExpress and found the following offers for 3200 mAh nexus 5 batteries:
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Phoe...or-LG-D820-D821-Google-Nexus/32331365093.html
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/High...-LG-D820-D821-Google-Nexus-5/32314356073.html
Has someone already tested these? It seems to be created only for the Nexus 5.
It could be really nice to have a 40% increase in battery life just for 10$ !
Considering the price, it would be great if this worked. Do you have the link to reddit thread?

Added to post above but there is no interaction yet I'm trying to find someone who tested it !
Nice find Any volunteers ? I wonder if the battery actually delivers this capacity since it is the same size as the 2300 mAh battery ? We´re talking about +900mAh extra capacity in the same size ? It sounds suspicious to me but on the other hand, if the battery actually delivers the capacity, it will save me trouble of having to modify a Polarcell 3200mAh battery made for a LG G2 in order to be usable in a Nexus 5
My experience with Chinese batteries goes back 3 years ago when i was not satisfied with my Gnex's battery , and tried a dozens of batteries , Some was decent and the other was horrible . Some claimed to be 2430mAh (original is 1750mAh) and some was not that greedy and stayed with 1800~2000mAh .
All of the batteries i tried shared one thing , Which is they failed to last 75% of the time the original lasted .
And please look at the size of this and compare it with the lg g2's
But who was manufacturing typo!!!!!!
2300-3200
Anyone tried this product yet? It says 15-30 days to get here. Wondering if its worth it or if the battery exploded on anyone? Does the battery hold a charge? Is it really 3200mAh?
Is it possible to use this size of battery? If can then it will be good :good:
I ordered it yesterday, it was shipped tonight. I wonderwing about the comments of exploding because it's a chinese battery. Nearly every battery comes from china.
Maybe the manufacturer have a website: http://phoenixbattery.com.pk/
If it is PhenixS
This one claims to be 3830mah. Something is fishy http://m.aliexpress.com/item/1759436097.html
One of the purchasers left feedback in Russian and says the battery is not 3830 mah, but does not mention the actual capacity.

Yet he gives 5 stars? This seems to be rather strange. I've heard of sellers reimbursing unhappy customers in order to have the 5 stars, maybe this happened here...

Keep us informed !
Unless its whole new battery chemistry or a physically bigger battery its all scams.
LG already crammed the most it can cram using Li-po chem in to the physical size limits.
Of course this is a scam or a typo.
My Nexus 5's battery is absolutely outrageous now for only a 1 and a half year old phone. Won't even last till 12PM when fully charged at 7AM. I might give this shot when I have time (Exam Season )
I think there was a guy on the Reddit forum saying that the extra 3200MAH wouldn't be impossible considering that the G2 battery (which was 3000mah) would still fit in the N5. And it's only a 7% increase in nearly year and a half, not completely rubbish. Battery might be a bit bigger I think.
Anyone who's made the mistake of buying these types of batteries before will tell you: they are not the capacity advertised.
They probably aren't even 2300mAh. They also have a higher chance of exploding.
anyone actually received the battery and tested it yet?
That web sells fake batteries. I bought one for my iphone saying it was 2800mah and it was a used battery (more cycles than mine... And mine was 3.5 years old) with 1420mah

ah... thanks. Good to know.
If it is the same size and thickness, then it's going to be the same capacity, unless it is based on another chemistry. You can also weigh the battery to see if it is any heavier than the stock one. I tried some aftermarket batteries for the Gnex back in the day and when I weighed them, they actually weighed less than the stock. Which shows that it is of less capacity than the stock. From my experience, stock batteries are already at the battery's size and weight limits.

New battery, original or fake?

Hi,
Yesterday i buy new battery for my old lg g2, but i'm not sure is it original.
My New battery is non stepped like this http://tanstartrade.ca/images/LG%20BL-T7.jpg
Do you think that it could be authentic?
Thanks in advance for your help.
I just got replaced battery in service - they told me that they use original LG parts. When I checked it under the cover, it shows manufactured date 6th of January 2016. It is not allowed by antena strips and curved back cover to have thicker battery and thinner would have less capacity. You could probably try but I don't see any benefits in that.
EDIT: After few days of usage I had to get my battery replaced by the old one. May be bad luck with not properly working battery but more probably faik one (runs for 0-10 mins, weird force charging in no OS mode). When they showed me the "new" battery in service it is thinner than the original, does not have the stepped back and thus makes gap between back cover and battery itself - 2mm of medium hard press. So it was like yours - flat design - no additional stepped part. The service was not authorised service but looked legit and had plenty of good reviews. So it's my experience of flat lg battery replacement stated as original.
Be noticed that all of below information are not yet confirmed.
I discovered the difference between original and fake since searching trough forums and own experience. :victory:
Design od LG BL-T7 battery has not changed ever since. Still the only one with the stepped back side. Should look like the battery on right side of these pictures, otherwise it is nor factory replacement (aka fake):
http://i.imgur.com/2Yt8cvDh.jpg
http://i.imgur.com/hkVpceYh.jpg
http://i.imgur.com/XtEH5AQh.jpg
The main difference is in litle bulk under printing "BL-T7", arrows under the NOM icon and next right is noticeable differnce in T in that symbol, fonts differ and last letter of chineese behind the manufactured day,...
There is a believe that non-original batteries are not that bad at all, only they have poor wiring and connection port which often makes them behave unexpectedly.
How to calibrate battery after replacement or when needed here.
I replaced my battery recently, they told me that it's not the original one, its a Chinese made but works well. So far, no issue.
Where did you get that one?

Note that if you face any issue regarding charging since these batteries are years old, then feel free to contact the seller and you will get a replacement.
I bought that same battery. It had no glue residue and the year was rubbed off.
It looks genuine but I won't be able to tell until my replacement screen arrives and I can install them both at the same time.
I bought a 3950mah high capacity battery from aliexpress (so clearly not geniune but for the money I decided to give it a shot). it works fine, got my Screen on time from 2-3h to 5h or more. However, when charging, it will charge up to 95-99% and then, while still plugged in, go down to 83% and stay there. Then when I unplug it and start using it, it first goes back up to 90-95% before going back down like normal. Has anyone experienced something like this and/or know a way to fix it? I tried some battery calibration methods but no luck. Also, since the phone rarely reaches 100% (indicated) it doesnt always reset the screen on timer properly... this makes it difficult to keep accurate track of its performance. when it does work 5h seems to be the usual value.
That one sounds weird.
Definitely not normal.
Only solution is to buy another and test it or return the one you haveDefinitely and try another one

I have contacted the seller but so far they are not replying... I tried the Ampere and 3C Battery monitor the check the voltages and currents while charging. At first, I thought the phone showed the wrong percentage as it was not calibrated for the high capacity (so 80% was actually 120% relative to the standard battery capacity) but it showed that the phone was actually discharging once it reached full charge. Also, my assumption of it being 120% was wrong since the percentage probably comes from the cell voltage. So, next I checked the cell voltage using both ampere and 3C but the values were all over the place, jumping from 4.36 to 4.2 and back. this made no sense. The battery has a top voltage of 4.37 when fully charged so maybe the battery monitoring software of the phone is confused by this?
In any case I will wait for the seller to get back to me and if the problem becomes worse I will get a new battery to test out.
Thanks for the update.
Keep us posted on how it goes.

Hello guys, I am looking to buy new battery for my 2 and half years old g2. So here are my options:
1) Pollarcell - they says it's great battery, but still kinda expensive for a non-oem battery. It would cost me about 25e.
2) OEM LG battery - in LG official service, I have to check it they still got them, price was about 30e if I recall correctly.
3) Some random battery - I guess this is lottery.I can get good or I can get bad battery. There are many brands, and their price is from 8-9 to 15e.
OEM is best choice for sure, but I don't feel like investing 1/3 of phone price in battery, especially cause I don't know how long I will keep that phone. Dunno what to do
Edit: Did anyone tried this battery? It has quite high rating
https://m.aliexpress.com/s/item/32572840069.html#autostay
Beware of Pollarcell batteries I have read cases of burning
Bought my new battery at PhonTrading24 ,
Battery is class and from new production 12/2016 .
fake or original?
I also changed my battery after 3 years at LG service however I have some questions in my mind whether battery is fake or original one. Although new battery has same capacity like old one but it doesn not last like new one ( it lasts almost a day ) Pictures are attached new and old one. What do you think guys?

It looks like the original one and it might well be. But that also means it is not new, as the production of original batteries have stopped several years back. So what you have is probably an unused but ageing battery.
Batteries start degrading the moment they are produced, just that it degrades at a slower rate being unused (depending on temperature it's stored etc), compared to it being actively used everyday.

thanks a lot for the comment. I have been using this battery for a month now and the battery ends after completing one day. As and old production not bad as you said.
Dimensions of original battery BL-T7, taken off from LG G2 : 55.4mm x 66.4 mm x 5.6 mm (thickness in the middle), Weight: 45 G.

What's the best battery upgrade?

I recently just bought the 5X and I love it, yet the battery is used so I know it won't perform as good as if it was new, so what's a good battery to get? I'd prefer one that has a larger capacity than the stock, but doesn't require a modded back or anything

I've seen posts with users that performed the LG G2 battery mod (similar to the rage with the Nexus 5). IMO I wouldn't trust a ~3-3.5 year old battery however unless you somehow manage to source late-manufactured parts.
I'm actually looking at doing this myself. My current battery is dying. AccuBattery says my battery health is below 70%, and I'm only holding a 1,900mAh charge instead of the original 2,700mAh. The G2 battery is 3,000mAh. I bought a LG G2 battery (BL-T7), and a spare 5X battery (BL-T19) just in case it all goes south.
Doesn't look too hard to mod the battery, and then it's a drop in replacement. The two batteries are the same physical size, which makes it easier than the Nexus 5, which had a different size battery and required case modding.
I'm not sure how I feel about buying a G2 battery manufactured in 2013, but I doubt I could get a 5x battery made in the past 2 years anyways.

You will (possibly) have a fresh battery, but the capacity will be the same. Those batteries will be better than the one in your phone, but only because of age difference

Thanks, pretty much what I expected - but only if they are 100% genuine OEM - I read that most of these "OEM" batteries on ebay are just lower MaH batteries with proper stickers on them..

I got one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MQZV9ZV/ I figured for $12, I'd give it a shot. I knew it wasn't OEM, so I wasn't going to be offended if it wasn't a full 2,700mAh.
The one I got was manufactured in 2016. It started off with a ~2,400mAh charge, but I think it's already dropped to ~2,200 mAh after a week or so. It's better than the 1,800-1,900mAh I was at before, but not phenomenal.

I am planning to do a little more. I have already ordered a spare battery and a back cover. I will be connecting the second battery in parallel and make a hole in the new battery cover I have ordered. For the hole, I will 3d print a fancy red cover and will stick there with superglue.
I am waiting for my order to reach, then I will update here too the result.

So did you do it finally?

Where to get a real replacement battery UK?

I'm at my wits end trying to find a genuine battery that I can get in the UK.
I'm getting. 2 hrs SoT on average.
I've now brought 2 "genuine" battery's from ebay that have none working temp sensors - show 25 degrees constantly and poor capacity.
Where can I buy a 100% real one that ships to UK?
Thanks
Just an update. I've ordered an nohon battery and another one from aliexpress.
Both arrive in 40 days I'll give feedback here. If neither are any good I'm getting a new phone as 2hrs SoT is no good for me.
Real shame as battery is the only issue
Please report on that as I've bought a used one and I think I may be in need of one shortly.
Thanks!
I was getting 1.5-2 hours SOT and replaced the battery with a Nohon from aliexpress and it went up to 3.5-4 hours

This is exactly what I wanted to hear! Does the temperature sensor work and has the capacity dropped over time?

Does it support fast charge ?
It supports fast charge. I don't check temp info and the battery is fairly new so I can't say anything about degradation yet.
Nohon arrived today. Took less than 2 weeks.
Temp sensor works and was packaged nicely with a toolkit (spudger, screw driver and sucker) looks the business
Now doing its first charge will report back after a few days. So far looks good on accubattery ~2500mah but the estimate can go up and down over time
Nice, please do report once you've got more experience with it.

So far it's looking very promising.
I'm actually getting home with 70%.
Average is slowly creeping up
Looks great.
If you could post or send a PM with the link to the specific product page that would be great.
There's probabaly fake Nohons too...

Thanks

hi i have got the same issue with temp sensor (from ebay). have you got the battery in the comments, is it good?. if u can give an update that will be great thanks. Also have noticed that phone gets very hot while charging with new battery under camera section.
I brought a nohon battery as mentioned earlier.
I got it at aliexpress and didn't take to long to get to the UK.
So far the battery has been perfect.

I ordered a replacement BM22 battery from ReplaceBase in the UK. Their delivery was really fast but unfortunately the ribbon cable connector on the BM22 supplied wouldn't attach to the phone. On the original battery there was a two tiny plastic clasps above and below the connector which clapsed it to the phone chassis connector. On my replacement BM22 these seemed to be missing.
I asked ReplaceBase for a replacement and, again, it shipped really quickly but wouldn't connect for the same reason. Has anyone else had this issue with a replacement BM22 battery?
That sucks, maybe try some tape to hold it down?

i had an issue where it would go in initially but sometimes would come off after plunging in replacement BM22 battery (b4 putting the black cover back on) nothing was missing i think its just the way it was. So if the isuue is that it comes off as soon as you put battery b4 putting the black cover over pcb i would say it will hold once the cover goes on top and there will be no gap. also it might be the placement of your battery in the phone that the cable might be going tiny bit over the connection than it needs to reach.( just thought ill say as you got the same problem with 2 battery). that's the issue i had when replacing battery which was fixed after reseating it. Hope it helped.

I replaced the battery with a nohon brand. The quick charge works but up to 2400mAh (prim arrives almost at 3000) according to the Ampere app. can you tell me what charge speed is coming (and with which rom)? thank you
