Nokia 9 Pureview - Microphone Static - Nokia 9 PureView Questions & Answers

I have a Nokia 9PV (TA-1082) and a few months ago the microphone started acting up. When I make or receive a phone call, the other person hears nothing but static. It may have started after the June 2019 update. I've read that this is a common software issue with android phones but I can't find a solution. When I record video, the microphone works properly, with no static recorded. If I test the microphone using a voice recorder app, it records nothing but static. If I make/receive a call using my bluetooth headset, it works fine. I received the August 2019 update today and it hasn't helped the situation.
I purchased the phone in the US and have been using it in Canada on the Rogers network. Everything else seems to work fine except for the microphone. Has anybody else had this problem with the N9PV?

Yes i replaced the phone but still caused by one of the third party programs, when you reboot the phone in safe mode it works ok. any program using the Mic or phone could be causing ie messenger, skype, viber, whats app.
looking for a solution also

Calls over TMo - Mic doens't work; Sound recorder and Hangouts, Mic Works

When I make a call using Tmo network, the person on the other end cannot hear me. I press the dialpad, and they hear an ugly click static noise. However, I can use the sound recorder and mic works fine. I can even make Google Hangouts calls (cam and no cam) and the other party hears me.
The phone is maybe about a month old. Over the past week, I had the problem but a restart of the phone would fix it. Now its stuck w/ the mic not working.... I restarted the device 5 times, full shut down, take battery out and then back in. Now it seems stuck w/ the mic not working over Tmo calls.

I figure it only effect wifi calling - any idea why? On a similar note, i cannot send/receive sms over wifi either. Once I connect to TMo cellular network, mic works and sms work.
any input on this one?

Rk3188 1din (Eonon Ga1312) mic issue

Hello, some days ago i bought the device in subject for my car.
But when I tried the microphone to use with Google Now or to recall some contact in Contacts through the voice I noticed that the mic didn't work.
I don't know why.
For the calls with bluetooth the microphone works fine..
Edit: for the calls also doesn't work. I noticed wrong..[emoji57]
Edit: i talked with technical assistance and the operator said that my car stereo doesn't mount a hardware for voice commands but only the microphone for the calls. Infact after deeper tests i noticed that the mic works fine during the calls..

I'm new to the subject (didn't buy a HU yet) but, from what I've read around in the last days, this is a known issue.

P20 Pro - Microphone issues

Hello,
I got myself a Huawei P20 Pro and am fairly satisfied with it atm. But there is one issue I have now and that is that apps like Line, Teamspeak 3 and even the phone app is using the wrong microphone when using a Bluetooth headset or even an USB C -> 3,5 mm headset.
One thing that I do remember now that I am writing this, is that I have Boldbeast Recorder installed, which is a call recording app. But I never had these issues with my Samsung S7 Edge.
Anyone else having similar issues?
Update;
I made a call earlier today and had these issues, but using the handset itself. But after a while even calling seems to not be working.
I did a quick reboot and now, huzzaa, everything works again...

Same problems and more....

I have the same problems with my P20 Pro! I can't make calls after a while with apps like messenger och WhatsApp, and after a while even audio when recording video I gone! A restart works for a while but then back to same behavior! This is really bad if they want to compete on the high end market... Hoping for a system update that fixes this ASAP!

Hmm, I think it happens for me whenever I use my Bluetooth headset (Jabra EVOLVE 65 MS). After I stop using it and go back to my USB-C -> 3,5mm headset it has that weird bug again.

For me it all starts working after a reboot :s
I got 3 days more to decide whether to keep it or not :s
So, I ended up returning my phone and got myself a Samnsung S9+ DS....
I am sorry!
I said earlier I don't have problem, but I do have problems with phone calls. The other party cannot hear me well. Maybe it is something to do with using Boldbeast. It records well, but maybe it interferes with phone calls. Can someone confirm this?
I'm regularly having the same issue.. Occasionally the other person at the start of a call can't hear me..
I have only yet encountered the issue with actual phone calls not whatsapp voice calls etc..
So I'm wondering if it's perhaps a VoLTE bug?
Or the only other thing I can think of is that perhaps the USB-C to 3.5mm headphone adapter plays around with the audio pipeline and doesn't reset.. Just speculation
Microphone error
Same to me here... Is there any solution? My friend can't hear me at all on the phone call... But when I playing PUBG with microphone enable they said my voice just like cartoon....
Private space is the key. I guess
Switching to private space.. ans switching back.. make u lose mic in calls.
I am sure of that.
There seems to be a few causes
Potentially:
1/ going into private space
2/ after using usb-c headphone adapter
3/ after using Bluetooth Audio
Still wondering if it's a VoLTE thing or if it also happens with whatsapp during a microphone. If it's only effecting phone calls and not apps that use the microphone that would point to volte or some other part of the call pipeline rather than the general audio pipeline
The only solution I have is to restart the phone.. That works
..
It seems like a firmware issue connected to the mic. Hope this gets resolved soon.
Same issue here.
I tried turning off VoLTE and WIFI calling. No luck.
This is really giving me a hard time. I can't make calls anymore.
People just don't hear me.
Do you guys have the dual SIM version? How many cards installed?
I removed the Sim in slot 1 yesterday and when I slid the tray back in the phone showed an update for the provider settings (and provider apps etc.)
I run the update and restarted the phone. Some provider apps were installed with the update.
--> first call went without problems.
--> maybe 2 SIM cards interfere?
--> maybe the provider update needed to be forced (by removing one of the SIM cards)
--> maybe it was just the reboot.
I'll keep you posted.
4 calls since last post (no restart since).
--> procedure might have done the trick.
Has anyone managed to fix the problem with update?
No more problems?
im having the same problem, i tried restarting and formating the mobile.
Fixes it temporary only.
Do you have two sims installed or just one? Try taking one out if you have two (see above) to trigger a provider update.
Ok, I have two sims in the phone. But now I deny Google permission for the microphone (I don't use "ok Google" to wake up), and never happens again, microphone works fine all the time.

Microphone not working in normal call

Hi all
Got a p20 pro l29. In a normal phone call the other person can not hear me at all, if i put it on speaker it works a bit.
Whatsapp voice messages work partially. It has a bit of a rattling sound and i sound like i am far away.
Any ideas?
E: had the issue on oreo, updated to pie which did not change anything
I have a problem only video calling. My voice is not go. (whatsapp Skype pubg). But 2 microphone are working normally. Android pie 9.0.0.161 same 197 same 200 same and now 9.0.0.202 same.
Having the same problem
I have the same problem with my p20 pro. Checked it with hicare and found out that my microphone is not actually working normal. It gives this rattling sound and my voice is registered low. Like very very low.
I hope someone can find a solution for this problem.
I have the same problem. It works fine with a headset, but the mic is all garbled. From what I've seen, this is a common problem on this phone. I'm sending it back.
If you are having this problem, it is most likely a hardware issue. I would send your phone in for repair.

Microphone not working in call

All of a sudden, my microphone does not work in a call. Regardless of if I originate the call or answer a call, the other party can not hear me. Works fine through speaker phone or Bluetooth. I've searched as much as I can online for a fix, but no results. So far I have done the following:
-Installed a third party phone app
-Tried safe mode
-Tried to repair in the Xperia Companion app on my PC (actually made things worse - couldn't make or receive calls)
-Full restore to factory defaults (fixed the call issues, but not the mic issue)
The tests in the support app fails to hear a frequency change.
Since the microphone works in speak phone, I assume this is still a software issue and not a hardware issue (unless the speakerphone uses a different mic).
I'm stuck and could use some advice.
Thanks
I have the same problem for several months
I have the impression that I had this problem since I put underwater
the only solution I found is to put in loudspeaker or use headphones
