Can single household Prebook 2 pixel 5 and 2 pixel 4a5g with Reward ? - Google Pixel 5 Questions & Answers

Hi, I want to prebook 2 pixel 5 and 2 pixel 4a5g from Google website? Will it make me eligible to get accessories from prebook offer?

I don't know where you are, but assuming you're talking about the Bose headphones offer, the UK and Ireland Terms and Conditions say
4. Limit of two (2) Rewards per household during the Promotional Period, irrespective of the quantity of Qualifying Products purchased.

According to these, Discover has no return protection.

Also, as the anecdote below illustrates for Amex return protection, read the fine print for exclusions. Electronics are always an iffy spot due to their high depreciation rate.

The only relevant exclusion is cell phones, and that's clearly stated in the program documentation (and it's not "fine print"). So too is the $300 limit that the guy complains about. I have zero tolerance for such whiners...

Availability Nexus 5

Hey now,
As a citizen of a country called Belgium, i have found it very difficult to purchase the Nexus devices. I wonder what your experience has been on the previous nexus devices, and where you traveled to to get one. I myself went to Denmark to search over 4 different provider stores to finally get one without a contract.

I live in Hungary, so no Play Store devices for me as well. Here, I could get it from bigger stores like Media Markt or buy it from the provider for a really high price. Either way, it's more expensive than buying directly from Google.

Might worth a trip. My only concern would be the warranty. I always take care of my phones, but if something happens, I guess I would have to send it back to Germany for instance.

Where I come from, while Nexus devices are available, but the release date varies a lot.
Nexus S was released about 7 months after US.
No clue about Galaxy Nexus, didn't follow the news.
Nexus 7 was released like 8 months after US.
Nexus 4 was released like 3 months after US.
And the price is just insane. I mean, when Nexus 4 came out, it was priced about $550 for the 16GB unlocked (off-contract) version if I convert it to USD.
Nonetheless, I'm hoping the Nexus 5, which is to be released by LG. follow suit with the Nexus 4. I think 2-3 months is an "okay" time range. 7-8 months? Hell no.
I live in Belgium too and for my mobile I go in Germany (Aachen-Aix la Chapelle) which is 30 minutes from my place. It's cheaper then Belgium and the mobile are unlocked. For example for my GS3 it was 100euros cheaper in Germany.
For my future Nexus 5 I will go there.
I had to order the Nexus 4 via eBay from the UK. I even had to use forward2me service because the seller couldn't deliver to my address. Heck, I paid about $620 in total, but it was well worth it! I got it like 2 weeks after the release. I live in Latvia by the way.
I just hope Nexus 5 won't have stock problems like it was with Nexus 4.

I'm wondering about the warenty.
Do we have to go back to germany for this warenty?
I really want to buy the nexus 5
I hope it's available from Amazon.com or similar. Then I'm gonna import it from the US and although there's gonna be taxes and stuff, the price is gonna be like $650. Still cheaper than bying say a SGS4 here, it costs more than $900.
I'll wait until it's available on ibood.com. Nexus 4 were sold there on several occasions.
I may also ask friend from UK to get me one when it's available at UK play store.

I found no problem of buying it in England for 160 pounds new boxed but receipe on a third person so warranty not void. Flashed a custom kernel after 2 weeks anyway, as overheating issues was killing me and the battery as well. In poland U can get it with 24months of warranty for 250 pounds no problem on auctions.

Thank you for the information, however I still find it outrageous to sell a 16GB version for 399 EUR about 539 USD, when the google play store price is 345 USD.
I am also living currently in Belgium and find the best prices to be on amazon.de or amazon.fr, depending on the products. The warranty is generally as good as when buying through a physical store and the price difference compared to other stores like Media Markt / Fnac or / Vandenborre is usually at least 100 EUR cheaper.
Lets hope that Google stops with this nonsense and starts selling in other EU countries too and while their at it they can also include a micro sd card slot in their future Nexus devices

First of all, $345 is not a real price, as you forget to add sales tax.
Second thing, you can blame silly european governments that imposed 21% VAT.

Nexus 5 petition to Google

For those of you who feel bad for not being able to buy a nexus 5 because you don't love in a Google play country.
I made this petition because it is unfair to us who have no access to Google play devices, we have to pay a hefty price for the n5, in brazil a 16gb n5 costs $1000.

Isn't the price spike due to imports fees and taxes.
IIRC the iPhone 5s is well over 1k in Brazil due to the same thing of taxes and import fees.

Google Nexus 5 is exclusively distributed by a single carrier in my country. And I don't like them. They're offering a 16GB model without a contract for $506.02.
If you want a 32GB model, the gray market wants $512.31 but no LTE support for the carrier I'm subscribed to.
Talk about import taxes...
Well the taxes are a factor but not the main one! Here in Italy we have a lot of taxes and Google decided to open the Play Devices in every case! Today i noticed that i bought the Nexus 5 White 16 GB the price is 359 € (with shipping costs) and there were almost 65 € of taxes! O_O then yes taxes are a reason that the Play Devices is not open in some countries but i think that there are some other factors!

There are nearly no taxes here in Hong Kong. But Google did not sell any devices until 19 Nov. Before that n4 and n5 are sold by LG which is way more expensive than Google. I got my n5 from a store. It is sold by LG and cost me ~$500 for 16GB. It costs ~$410 on Google Play and ~$460 for 32GB.
You know Google doesn't owe you ****.
It's not your god given right to buy a nexus at an affordable price, especially if they don't sell it in your country officially.
If you can't buy one officially, it sucks to be you.
If Google did actually sell their products in your country, well that's a different story altogether.
Why aren't they selling stuff in your country?
Well you actually didn't say.
You didn't provide any information other than some whining.
If you do want to make a petition thread, then do some hard research, outline the processes in play and be persuasive.
Do this before you make this kind of thread and you'll have more sympathetic ears - or at least a better discussion that actually gets noticed.
Otherwise, stop posting these useless, poorly written threads.

It's because of the taxes in your country. Blame your government not Google. Take the PS4 for example -
Now, Sony's announced the cost of the PS4 in Brazil and it's somehow an even bigger figure. Brazilians will have to pay 3,999 Brazilian Real, which is the equivalent of $1850 USD.
The increased costs are due to import fees and taxes
Click to collapse
The PS4 is $399.99 after all your countries import fees and taxes that's a $1450 markup just from taxes and import duties charged by your country. If you don't like it buy it somewhere else and have it shipped to you by another company that wont force you to pay the taxes.
@Darkendvoid88 I totally agree. If you're in a country where electronics are really expensive its better off getting one over seas and shipped back to you. So you won't have to spend so much money.
But $1850 USD is crazy.. You could buy like 4 ps4s
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
90% percent of you don't know what you are talking about even if this has been pointed out already in the past.
The nexus 5 is made by LG and is subsidized by Google where the play store is available for making phone purchases.
Where it isn't available, like in my country, it is being sold by and imported by LG which makes the phone 90eur more expensive. Being in an EU country intra EU taxes don't exist and only the difference in VAT taxes are applicable. Regardless the price is higher not because of taxes but because of profit.
In other countries where neither Google nor LG sell it, the price is higher because no one can tell the importer what prices to apply. So, if there is demand the price is as high as the monopoly governs. Of course there are taxes but excepting Brazil and the ps4 debacle there are few in these extreme situations.
So what the OP wants is that Google expand their Play services to his country to level out the price of his next Nexus phone to a product with taxes and transport and with minimum PROFIT! Not like LG in my country that is charging 90eur more for a phone which sells in Germany carrying the exact same taxes.

You know that by buying it overseas or from anywhere outside the country implies adding the same exact import taxes because you are in fact importing.
You cannot bypass import taxes that is why Sony, the official manufacturer and importer for Brazil, is forced to sell it in Brazil at that price. Sony is making the exact same profit as it does in other countries.
If it were another importer, not Sony, then you could have blamed the company for abuse by selling it with a high margin and import it yourself.

Order Pixels to unavailable countries

Hello all, I have a general question about Pixel phones.
I have wanted to own one for a long time, but sadly in Hong Kong, the last phones I could order directly from Play Store were Nexus phones. We can occasionally find them in grey markets, but this is such an unpopular device that it's always a second hand phone sold by some tourist passing by....
I would really like to get away from One Plus and Xiaomi and am not interested in Samsung and such. So I decided that this year, I'd get myself a Pixel 5 for Christmas
So my question, anybody had experience using some online store to get Pixel phones to countries where they are not officially sold?
I could ask friends or family back in France to help me to order it then send, but I'm always a little wary about using the "normal" post channels to ship something like this which is expensive and could be blocked at the customs.
Any experience and advice to share?
If the Google Store price and subsequent postage is within your budget, and you know you won't have any issues with customs, you could order it from the German Google Store and a mail forwarding service like mailbox.de to ship it from Germany to your country.
Google does not ship in other countries, only the ones they have a store, like Germany. You sign up at mailboxde and they give you an address within Germany. You order the phone through the Google Store, and put that address for delivery. When the phone arrives there, they will notify you and you can forward it to your own address.
Now, there are other forwarding services too but I've only used mailboxde, and that a few years ago when I got the first OnePlus device. Also I have no idea how much it would cost to ship the package from Germany to your country, for Greece it was around 20 euros extra and took two to three working days to arrive.

I have a Pixel 5 from Amazon UK due to be delivered by DHL to my home in Lai Chi Kok today... No problem ordering internationally, no VAT to pay, a few days for shipping (would be quicker if Amazon hadn't sent it around the country for a couple of days) - but it is out of stock right now. I've used a bunch of non-local phones in Hong Kong over the years - including an HTC Desire I bought from Fnac in Paris while transiting, which had been rooted in a cafe before I got on the plane to HK

But really, 5G, I feel it's not something so essential in our lives
In any case, it is one of the risks of import like this indeed....
Pixel 5 in Hong Kong
I ordered mine from Amazon UK. I got a Pixel 5 UK version. Shipping direct to Hong Kong, so no VAT. Shipping is not expensive at amazon. However, it will only work in 4G. It will not work with the 5G network in Hong Kong. If you plan on using it in a different country, check. It is not a frequency issue. The frequency is supported, but it is other software issue. If anyone have answer to this, please let me know.
Thanks.

All my sadness disappeared when I sent a claim for Bose headphones and they validated my order. expecting them to ship it in two weeks.

General Pixel 7 Pre-order and Delivery Dates

I have just pre-ordered the 128GB Obsidian black version direct from Google.
Delivery estimate is October 13th - 14th
I also took advantage of the promotional offer and should be getting a free pair of Google Pixel Buds Pro.
So have you pre-ordered yet?
What version did you go for?
What is your estimated delivery date?

Same order and delivery date but from Best Buy with good trade in for my Pixel 4XL ($320!) and $100 gift card.
Ordered the 128GB Obsidian from Google. Will be getting $100 credit once the order ships.
I have had a bad experience doing a trade in before now so will not be doing that this time.
I will sell my current phone privately to help recoup some of the cost and will probably sell on the Pixel Buds Pro as well.

Everything I have ordered from Google has always arrived via DPD.
The cancel button has disappeared on my pre-order and the status has changed to prepared to dispatch
How is everyone getting the Pixel Buds? Is that just for the P7 Pro model, or did i miss something on the regular P7?
Amazon has a bunch of Pixel 4a refurbished for $123.99 and Google is giving $300 trade in. I had to jump on it. I'll just take it out of the box and put it right in the trade-in kit.

I think, I don't know, people in the US are using their Google Store $200.00 credit for purchasing a Pixel 7/Pixel 7 Pro to purchase Pixel Buds from the Google Store.
No.
Pixel 7 Get up to $750 off any Pixel 7 phone with qualifying trade-in. Plus, get up to $200 in Google Store credit towards your next purchase. ^

It will depend on where you pre-order your pixel 7 from as to what offers are made.
I pre-ordered my pixel 7 from the google UK store and the offer being made at the time was a free set of pixel buds pro or £179 reduction in the price of the google pixel watch.
If I had pre-ordered the pro version then the offer was a free pair pixel buds pro or a free pixel watch.
But like I said offers will vary depending on which country you are in and where you pre-order your pixel 7 from

I don't think the Pixel Buds are offered in the U.S. (just a Google Store credit) when buying from the Google Store. Haven't really seen any carriers or other stores in the U.S. offering the Pixel Buds either. But some users in the U.S. are using their Google Store credit to get the Pixel Buds after the fact, especially those that get the 7 Pro $200 credit, which would basically make the Buds free.
I ordered Pixel 7 Pro from Google UK online store, 256GB, black, got the LTE Pixel watch for free. (I already have the Buds Pro for almost a month now, and really enjoying it)

I ordered 40 minutes after the start of the announcement (15:40 BST, 06/10/22), order status still ordered (not dispatched or ready for dispatch yet), says delivery 13-14 Oct
Ordered Pixel 7 from Google (USA), received $100 credit towards future Google store purchase, plus $300 credit for my Samsung S10e trade-in. Oddly, Samsung offer only $150 credit for the S10e. Since the S10e is currently sitting in a drawer (I'm using an S22), this is convenient. But only if I like and keep the Pixel 7, of course!

Ordered the Pixel 7 Pro 256 in Obsidian Black from AT&T. Supposedly shipping on the 12th of October.
Pixel 7 obsidian from T-Mobil.
Shocked by how dead this thread is. It was insane during the Pixel 6 preorder.
Things do seem a bit slow.
Hopefully my Pixel 7 will be dispatched tomorrow.
Trading in my Pixel 6 and the Pixel 7 shipped today. Delivery date is the 13th!
