I'm might trigger the ARB (Anti-rollback) and it prevents you from booting. This may be fixed only by a Xiaomi Authorized repair service. (It's like a ban when you mod a console and try to connect it to the network saying this console is suspended from a network, same on the phone, but it's not permanent unless you re-flash it with the newest MIUI.) The MediaTek chipsets are not good for custom ROMs and recoveries due to their closed-source limitations and support. I would recommend you use the Redmi Note 9 Pro version if you want the Note 9 series phone. It has a Qualcomm and it's really easy to unbrick and re-flash at any time. Try reflashing your phone with the newest MIUI ROM to see if it even boots with the stock recovery.

My phone disconnects from the USB every 10 minutes of file transferring and then spits out the message that the communication between my PC has failed. At least the DSU mode works so I can enjoy an Android 13 beta experience. I'm switching to Qualcomm or Exynos.

Miflash only works on an unlocked bootloader. It appears that you have a Chinese Model and you just did what was supposed to be avoided. You should get accustomed to Miflash moving forward. Never use Flash_All_Lock while cross flashing China/Global roms. You'll have to wait to unlock your Bootloader now and post that flash the China rom to get back. If any time you wish to move to the India rom, either use a twrp recovery or just use Flash_All while using the fastboot image which should eventually avoid locking the bootloader

1. if you can still enter fastboot mode, there is a possibility that you can do TWRP flashing again (the TWRP version must be correct so that the data on the cellphone can be read properly) / Flashing from the PC (if you are lucky, the flashing will work properly without any problem or you can bypass the bootloader locked using software or something else). [make sure ROM version must be appropriate because this is very crucial]
2. You can try using the test point method (EDL / Emergency Download Mode) [This method is usually used if your K20Pro is constrained by Hardbrick due to ARB4] , but this method requires you to open the case / body behind your K20Pro. and I cannot guarantee that the flashing process will succeed easily because in some cases if the K20Pro is detected damage / error due to ARB4, then you are required to have an Authorized Mi Account. I might be able to help you remotely, if you agree with the risks & requirements in the flashing process (I can lend my account, but it's not free).
Hi All, I did the same thing - whoever build the UI for MiFlash should be shot - why default that selection to something that will be undesirable!!?
Anyway, i tried to flash indian rom and forgot to set to Clean All, it locked the bootloader.
So i now have redmi recovery and Fastboot options only on phone.
Have tried fastboot + miflash but all options (now with Chinese rom) - says Erase Boot Error.
Tried MiAssistant + Mi PC Suite - it is not detecting the phone in either MiAssistant recovery mode nor Fastboot mode. what is weird is the phone and connector animation on phone is correctly depicting when it is plugged in/unplugged. But the PC suite isnt detecting the device.
Soft bricked - *sigh.... any help will be greatly appreciated from the community
BTW i am more worried that the phone will run out of battery and never wake up once battery drains completely as it is in bootloop into Redmi recovery and can't be turned off (someone tell me how!?) - I don't see the phone respond to charging in any state... : (
Can you still reach fastboot? If so you can unlock phone again and flash TWRP using ADB. After that boot straight into TWRP and connect it to your computer, internal SD storage should then automatically mount. Drag and drop ROM .zip into internal storage, use TWRP file manager to move it out of the data folder and do a default wipe using TWRP. Then flash .zip ROM (for example xiaomi.eu stable) and you should be back in business. Please let me know if you need any files like working recovery image and further instructions.
I had some trouble with my TWRP recovery yesterday, flashed it on unlocked bootloader with Chinese stable ROM installed, on reboot out of fastboot it boots straight into ROM and overwrites the TWRP recovery with default recovery. I fixed it by flashing recovery again, boot straight into it and flash xiaomi.eu stable, now recovery is TWRP and does not get overwritten.

You're probably going to have to open up the phone and pay $20 for someone to use their authorised account to flash an official ROM whilst remoting in to your PC.

Some great ideas - Just tried to unlock bootloader - This device came pre-unlocked so the device is tied to the seller's account.
I have unlock permission - but unlocker say device is not bound to my account matching my assumptions - anyone know what's the best way to re-claim ownership? Especially when I can't get into ROM at all?

My comment was meant for OP but I hoped it would help you as well! I am personally not well informed about the Xiaomi / Redmi ownership situation when the seller unlocked the phone.. maybe you can contact them and get a corresponding password to the account, it has been the solution I have seen offered here. Maybe the emergency flash solution from Robbo.5000 works?
I just got this phone a week now and was only able to unlock and flash yesterday, I was aware of the ownership problem thanks to this forum so I bought the sealed CN version. Hope you figure it out!
Thanks guys. I am going for the Test Point solution - have made contact with the Russian tech the others did and made an appointment. I just have to pretend to be Jerry Rig before then and open her up! Fingers crossed!

Did you flash the global rom on an existing running Chinese rom or on an empty device (formatted)? Just for myself cuz I'm not sure whether to unlock and then unable to relock. Thanks.

MI 9 Bricked After trying to change CN rom to Global rom.

Hi Guys, I hope someone of you could help me out.
Recently a Chinese friend of mine gave me an MI 9 as a present. But unfortunately they ROM of the new phone was the CN version.
I found a way to change the ROM by doing the unlock bootloader and flashing TRWP, after that, I downloaded the MI9_Global_V9.5.30_vendor_fw_flash, went back to the Recovery and wiped the "Delvik, cache, SYSTEM and Data. When I was trying to install the rom I got an error telling me the Global rom file was corrupt and restarted the cellphone.
The problem is I am stuck in the Fastboot loop, can't access the recovery and my computer don't recognize the cellphone.
I know I ****ed it up, I was wondering if I can revert that or did I just lost a phone.
Thank you Guys.

Hi,
How did you unlock your bootloader?
It asks for binding Mi account and it's not possible when your phone is bricked.
Yeah, the rule is simple. If it boots into fastboot, it can be recovered. Just flash the global you want with the MI flash tool and the fastboot file.

Guys I am too stupid for this,
I flashed the fastboot global rom in my phone with MI flash but locked it in the end (can't believe I am that retard), now I believed I have bricked it for good.
Now I can't flash the correct fastboot ROM with miflash because I have locked the bootloader while trying to flash the Global ROM. I am at the fastboot loop again.
Can I do something now or I just have a expensive paper holder?
Thank you guys.

flash another official firmware on a locked bootloader BY XIAOMI TOOL V2 https://www.xiaomitool.com/v2
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMkDAxiDdKs&t=10s
Here’s something VERY important before you flash or update the ROM.
1. Xiaomi Phones manufactured for Chinese market are not able to run MIUI Global ROM.
2. Xiaomi Phones manufactured for Global markets are not able to run MIUI China ROM.
We highly recommend you to buy Xiaomi Phones via official or authorized sales channels and double check the system information before flashing or updating.

Hi guy,
Same thing happened to me, I felt very stupid, but it was on a MI 8 SE.
According to my experience, only there's a way to solve it and it's booting on EDL mode.
You'll need an authorized Mi account to flash the original ROM.
There's a complete guide on c . mi . com named [Guide] [All in One] MIUI Flashing Guide: Unbrick, EDL Method / Locked Bootloader, Unlock Bootloader, More, I can't post the url because I'm a new user
Best wishes!

Read carefully and report
1. Try to hold down the buttons vol down and power, see if : fastboot devices sees it. If so XiaoMi Tool will restore it. If not do the same try recovery vol up + power. Do adb devices and see if anything shows up. Worst case you'll have to open the phone up and connect the EDL pins together and it will flash anything. I use minimal ADB and Fastboot phone plugged via USB cable into the computer and run those commands.
2. Fully bricks their device here is the unbrick factory method
https://c.mi.com/thread-1479882-1-0.html
that's connecting EDL pins with the phone case removed for a phone that doesn't boot at all
3. https://youtu.be/8mW0JzKow7E
here's the exact EDL test point required on Mi9
if you can't boot or recognize the device at all via fastboot or ADB. If this doesn't work nothing will...
But it will work, that's what the factory does. Obviously the last resort.

Redmi 9 dead help!!

I flashed twrp, but the device got bricked, then I put the phone into fastboot then I typed "fastboot reboot fastboot" and it didn't enter that mode, it got into Redmi logo screen and then it turns off buy itself. it has that bootloop. and now I can't make it to enter to fastboot again to flash it. I can't do anything
it's a redmi 9 lancelot
Bring it to your dealer, when u cant enter nothing than its hard bricked i think(tell me if i am wrong)and as far as i know this can only be solved by a certified seller, but not 100% sure.
One thing from me to you.
Dont flash unstable software on your phone when u not know what u do,in special MTK devices.Good luck.Cheers!!!!

I bought it on a kiosk in my country so it's gonna be harder to find someone. I thought it was gonna be a way to force to enter to fastboot, but it's impossible. I know there are some guys that can fix it by teamviewer
omg, what did u just do?
i am waiting for the official of twrp because theres a huge possibility of bricking your device.
before you do anything to your device you must read many articles on how to recover it. also read all the comments below the articles because some users have their experience installing the software.
back to the topic:
after you bricked your device you were able to go to fastboot but something went wrong because you soft bricked your device then you want to go to fastbootd.
thats was the wrong move you did to your device.
note: if theres a bootloop or something went errors after installing custom rom and you can able to access fastboot. this is the only thing you need to do, use miflashtool and install default firmware.
some users flashing the meta if theres a bootloop on their device, but for me the very secured step is flashing default firmware in his compatible tools like miflashtool.
search shas post to unbrick your device. try it since your device got bricked.

i am waiting for the official of twrp because theres a huge possibility of bricking your device.
before you do anything to your device you must read many articles on how to recover it. also read all the comments below the articles because some users have their experience installing the software.

I had tried that twrp before, the new thing I did was to flash a new rom, then the rom got stuck in the logo, so i asked the creater how could i solve it? He told me to flash permessive. That's why I installed twrp. But i saw twrp wasnt working. I went to fastboot to flash my software, but as you told me i went to fastbootd too. I took it to repair. I hope the can do something
try to hard reset Bro.
fastboot reboot fastboot is wrong. fastboot reboot bootloader is right.(op)
I decided to exchange it for a Redmi note 9s since I saw the development is better for that cellphone, even xiaomi mitool v2 is showing me an official twrp recovery and magisk root. Im just waiting to unlock my bootloader. btw is this a MTK device too? i heard mtk devices gets brick easily as it happened with my redmi 9

No idea why all have problems with MTK devices.
I SAY IT AGAIN AND AGAIN,YOU MUST REALY KNOW WHAT YOU DO ON THIS SOC,I HAVE SOME PHONES WITH MTK SOC AND I HAVE FLASHED AND BRICKED IT LIKE REDMI 9 NEARLY HUNDRED TIMES BUT HAVE NEVER A DEAD DEVICE AND I TEST MY THINGS AND ALL WHAT I SEE WHICH INTERESTING.
To your phone:
It have a Snapdragon 720G on board, not realy a killer but hey its Quallcom.Cheers!!!!
yeah, I do think the problem was because the twrp was bad, and I didn't flash the rom expectantly when I knew it, it was bad. that's my lesson I learnt, everytime it doesn't boot properly, I'm gonna flash the stock rom again

How To Guide Way to unbrick device in EDL

Hi, I probably found the way to flash ROM if device in edl without auth account:
Download latest MiFlash and fastboot rom
Unzip rom and go to /images folder
Choose prog_ufs_firehose_sdm7150.elf
Copy it to MiFlash folder
Go to EDL and type in cmd on PC in Mi Flash directory command attached as picture.
Wait until "OKAY" appears
After this reconnect phone in EDL and start flashing ROM INSTANTLY!!!
sorry what is edl?

What is EDL Mode and How to Boot your Qualcomm Android Device into it
Android phones and tablets equipped with Qualcomm chipset contain a special boot mode which could be used force-flash firmware files for the purpose of unbricking or restoring the stock ROM.

Your instructions say to copy "prog_ufs_firehose_sdm7150.elf" but the image refers to "prog_emmc_firehose_sdm7150.elf" (sdm vs. emmc). Is this correct? Or which should it be?
It's the same. It depends from Miui version (I took that file from 12.5)
well if this true this guy needs a major award and this post needs a lot more attention as we would finally have a way to unbrick this device for free. Let also take the opportunity to wish all the people in telegram to go to hell for taking money to use their auth account to do it for other people (yes I DO believe it should be free for all)
Did anyone successfully try this on a bricked device?

It definitely worked in 2019. I don't if it works right now (really hope so)
if it worked in 2019 then it can have chance to still work, with the same software setup / rom. But this device did not exist in 2019....
would you mind posting exact setup details, so that it can be verified by others?
which version of miflash, which rom (did you flash a rom for redmi note 10 pro with it?)
this needs to be verified, but I have no bricked device around, and dont want to try it just for fun with running device.

MiFlash 2018
It worked for lavender (Redmi Note 7) when it was in EDL
I used latest MiFlash to flash Redmi Note 10 Pro fastboot Miui 12.5
so you used mi flash to flash a rn10p device, which was not in bricked state, only?
but you didnt try it in bricked stage?
edit: I mean HARDBRICK, screenoff /EDL loop. not fastboot
Yes
ah well, then you basically just flashed via fastboot, no real unbrick.
Does it work?
That can't work unless he speciefies each single step and which exact file he used. EDL has an authetication scheme and if you don't have an authorized account then it won't work.

Question Redmi Note 10 5G Global stuck on MIUI Recovery after update to 12.5.5.0

Hello all,
I just got the V12.5.5.0 update on my Redmi Note 10 5G (Global).
After I rebooted the system tapping the complete notification it is stuck on the MIUI Recovery screen.
My device is not rooted. It just has received OTA updates.
I tried to reboot the system a few times, but it didn't work.
Also, I tried the safe mode, but it didn't work either.
After Reboot or safe mode, it returns to the MIUI Recovery screen.
I haven't tried the Wipe Data option because I want to back up my files first if possible.
Is there any way to back up my files or be able to fix it?
Please help.
Thanks in advance.
the only solution is enter into fastboot mode and flash stock fastboot firmware via miflash or similar tool

I tried that, but I am getting an error saying not allowed in locked state. It looks like the bootloader is locked, so I tried to use the Mi Unlock tool but I am getting error 1004. Also I tried wipe data, but it didn't work either. Right now, I don't care loss my data, I just want to have my phone back, any help is appreciated. Thanks
I have the exact same problem, after the update, lock on recovery mode, then when I tried to flash stock fastboot firmware it says that it is locked. And I also can't access Mi Unlock Tool for some reason, so if anybody has a solution to unlock bootloader I would really appreciate it.
Thanks
I got this same issue. Is there any way we can report this to mi? I don't mind if I lose my data rn, I just want this to start working normally again. someone please help if you know how to fix this

Have you downgraded? Tried to, but accidentally locked bootloader. And it shows that version I have installed isn't compatible.

I received the device yesterday, the update notification arrived and I installed it, I didn't imagine it could be a problem, I tried to reinstall the rom but the bootloader is also blocked, I don't know what else to do, I'm desperate.

Found a solution on web. If your phone is on Mediatek(I suppose all Note 10 5g are Mediatek? or no?) So, if it is, just look for an unlocker. You will also need MiFlash and I recommend to install Global MIUI 12.5.4. https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/camellian/stable/V12.5.4.0.RKSMIXM/ - MIUI

unfortunately this tutorial doesn't work here, I followed everything but it still didn't unlock the bootloader
Hi guys, I just woke up and my phone was in MIUI Recovery mode, just like yours.. Probably made the update automatically.
It seems this is a recent problem for many of us. I'm nowhere near an expect but I will continue looking for the solution (if possible, without whiping out the data or at least to be able to back-it up).
Will really appreciate if somebody posts if they find a solution.
Thanks!
The only solution is to wipe the phone. I got my lesson I will buy a samsung now
Hello all,
I got the V12.5.5.0 update to on my Redmi Note 10 5G (Global).
After I rebooted the system tapping the complete notification it is stuck on the MIUI Recovery 5.0 screen.
My device is not rooted. It just has received OTA updates.
I tried to reboot the system a few times, but it didn't work.
Also, I tried the safe mode, but it didn't work either.
After Reboot or safe mode, it returns to the MIUI Recovery screen.
I have tried the Wipe Data option and it worked and got me back to MIUI V12.5.4.0. But unfornnatly i lost all my files (about 90 Gb of data).
And this is the last i install any MIUI update until i see that a lot of user's have install it review it
My Poco M3 Pro 5G Global wasn't affected.
I manually download the OTA package and installed successfully.
This phone has a/b slot.
I'm wondering those facing this issue, have you tried switching from a to b slot or vice versa?
fastboot --set-active=a
fastboot --set-active=b

i think the ota released by xiaomi is bugged. you're operation is correct, but a correct ota might do this automatically. i have noticed that many users with unlocked bootloader, after the update have phone that dont boot. i think they cant enter on fastboot mode. the only solution is flash using mediatek SP FLASH TOOL. or MI FLASH PRO. or ALL IN ONE TOOL
Was someone able to access the "Connect with MIAssistant" part using pcsuite?
I couldn't, but I think it might be because the USB cable I'm using is not the original one from Xiaomi or one compatible.
work only if you have installed also pcsuite on your device. if u have a full stock loked device only solutions are Mediatek tool or miflash pro! or all in one tool. as i said a million time already
