HTC Butterlly S repair in the Uk?? - HTC Butterfly S

I bought a Butterfly S off eBay and was loving it until I managed to damage the SIM card connection by getting simcard stuck and pulling it out with tweezers. DOH!!! :'(
It wouldn't recognise any SIM card at all after.
I have had it at a local repair place for a couple of months. They can't get hold of the part and I'm gutted.
I was hoping anyone of you lovely guys and girls could give me any advice?
Thanks in advance.

Send it to HTC for repairs
Sent from my HTC Butterfly s using xda premium

They won't accept it in the UK as it's not a UK phone. I would have to send it to Taiwan apparently. Plus I would have to pay for the repairs.
I was hoping someone knows how to get it fixed here in the UK.

wow that really sucks =/
That's strange as I thought HTC North America can fix it, didn't think Europe would be any different. Tech support told me to contact RMA department to see if my headphone amp was faulty, but I didn't bother.

Yeah I thought that too. They told me I could send it to either Taiwan or the states. Not sure what to do.

Its a global device, so it can b fixed at any htc repair facility. I had just got mine repaired, dead pixel, and it was freezing up. When i initially contacted htc, they tried telling me the warranty was no good! Lol. I called back an hour later, and they wrote up a ticket, and i sent it in for repair. It took about 2 and a half, maybe 3 weeks, i just got it back. Brand new! They replaced everything almost. I had dropped it, and there were a couple scuff marks on it, plus the screen had a few light scratches. Not anymore. They replaced the screen, and everything. Its mint condition again! There was a 20 fee for the global warranty. But oh well.
My suggestion, send it to the states, to a friend, have them get it fixed through htc repair and send it back to u. Good luck man.

Screen lifted

Does anyone have their screen slightly lifted from one side? It's like the adhesive is missing resulting in the screen lifting just from that part bending the glass abit. I just noticed after my hand sliding off the screen I can feel that it's been lifted. Will this be considered a manufacturer defect allowing me to swap the phone for free? Also how exactly does this work? Do I just show up with the phone and they swap the phone or do I have to take everything such as the box? I already took precautions and locked the bootload and ruu

If the screen is undeniably raised I don't see why sprint won't help u out ...take it to a corp store that has tech support.either way u have a year manufacter warranty

It's not raise a lot but it's best to fix things early before they get worse. It's to the point where if u push on it u can feel the screen sink abit. I also got that red noise issue
Give them a call ..hopefully you'll get a good rep that will leave notes on your account for repair or replace at your local pub (sprint ) ....haha yeah ..what's this red noise issue ?

So I just went in and they said they refused to help me because my phone was purchased through best buy. I guess I have to send it to HTC and see if they will fix it since I've unlocked although I wouldn't see y that would be an issue. Also tried bestbuy and they were no help since I was past the 15 days and I had no issurance. Time to see how it works with HTC

as long as the device is active on your account, sprint should help you.. Sounds like you got a bad store/employee

If you are within 14 days of original purchase, you are entitled to have your defective phone replaced with a NEW phone. If that is the case, that may be why they are "refusing" to help you, just poorly explained. However, if you are outside of that 14 day window, any Sprint corporate service center or ASC (authorized service center) should be able to help you with your issue, although some techs who are on a limited exchange budget may argue that your issue does not affect device functionality and therefore not qualify for an exchange. Not necessarily my opinion, just throwing that out there as a possibility.
As far as coverage and costs if you are outside of 14 day window:
If you have Best Buy insurance, go through Best Buy for a free replacement.
If you have TEP/ESRP, go through any Sprint service and repair location for a free replacement.
If you only have the manufacturer warranty, you can go through HTC for free replacement (could take up to two weeks and you might have to pay for shipping) or go through Sprint for a fee.
It's a known issue. People were posting about the raised screen when the phone first came out. Like someone said, try a different tech/store. I have argued till I was blue in the face over the phone about stuff, hung up got a different employee and had the next one give me zero problems.

Gave HTC a call they set it up and everything but turns out ups closes early during summer so I didn't have time to ship it and now I can't ship it since I'm taking off to school in a week

I have a faulty speaker and some gaps on the side of the phone. If I bring it back to the shop where I bought it (phones4u), will they offer me a replacement or they will send it to repair? The phone is 4 months old. thanks :}

They'll usually offer you a repair for starters generally.
Unless the hardware problem is classified as irreparable during the examination process, it would be a replacement.
So it's hard to tell really.

Display problem (Canada Bell c6906)

I found a blurry line covered by soft key on my z1 display while it's booting and I have been using it more than 14days.
Would Sony warranty cover this? than where should I go, if it is?

Even its pass 14 days, thats only for refund or get a different device, bell has a 30 day DOA replacement policy the sales personel never tell you that because they dont want you to know make you think you have to send the phone for repair, i found that out by calling bell 1-800 itself, if something is wrong with the phone they have to replace it with same phone same color before the 30 days expires, i am doing a doa replacement tomorrow they said will have device ready for me
Can someone point out the problem?
A blurry line covered by soft key?
Edit: I understand the problem now.

Does it matter if I updated software myself with flashtool? I updated to generic version .257 not Bell one and should I go to the store that I bought in or any Bell retail store? because I went there twice for replacement(now I have is third one):crying:I mean they did well, but it's hard for me to get there for replacement again..
Sony should improve their QA, it just undermine their product image.
I encountered exactly the same problem with my Z1 after 6 days of use. Two days ago I took the phone to the shop where I bought it from (Orange Shop Romania) and I specificly asked them to replace my unit with a new one. But they told me they can't do that and that it will be sent to the central service to be repaired. The warranty law in Romania is very unclear and I am waiting now to see what happens.
Good to know that i'm not the only one with this problem
I found someone who has same problem as mine on YouTube.

RMA for cracked screen

Does anyone here have experience with getting a cracked screen replaced? The device I'm talking about should still be under warranty (it's 1 and a half year old) and was bought via Amazon. Should I send it back to Amazon or directly to HTC?

If you cracked the screen yourself, then no warranty will cover it.
The point is that I didn't do so, it broke inside the pocket of a jacket. It's only one crack going from one side to the other.

That is still considered your fault. If you had received it that way, you could have turned it in.
I'll try to return it to HTC and see what happens. I'll post my result right here.
Sorry for the late reply, but I decided to repair the phone on my own and just ordered a digitizer / touch screen panel. Will be a bit tricky, but I've already done it with another phone.

Anyone with a half sunken power button?

Does anyone has had this problem? Do any of you guys know if HTC covers it under warranty ?

The earlier factory batches of the HTC One have a lot of hardware faults and build issues, I recommend getting your phone replaced if under warranty. Build defects are good reasons to get a warranty replacement. I've replaced my One twice so far due to defects and I finally got a perfect device.
